Anders and Eli looked at the door not sure what to do. They both look at each other and nod, knowing what to do if they ever got caught. Eli rushed over to his sister's room and woke her up. As soon as she was awake they walked out the back and hid. As soon as they did Anders got up and opened the door. When he did Callum Gordon rushed into the house without any warning.
"Can I help you sir?" Ander said with a hint of anger. "Do you require a weapon or tools?"
"Not at all peasant." Callum shouted back, " I'm looking for a boy, short, black hair, a few freckles on his cheeks. You can't miss him."
"I am sorry sir but I am the only one living here. My only child left me a few years ago. Do not worry good sir if i ever find a boy with that description I'll-." A scream interrupted his conversation with Callum. A few minutes later a guard comes inside through the back with Leah and Eli tied up.
Callum smirked then laugh loudly. "Well look what we have here. The blacksmith boy I've been seeking." He looks over and Leah. "And what's this? Your sister? It doesn't matter, what matters is you, blacksmith boy."
"I have a name you know."
"And I don't care. What I care about is your assistance." Eli looked at him puzzled. "You see, I have found something. Something that mere peasants should never touch. Unfortunately, the touch of a boy with grey eyes is what I need. So if you comply I will happily reward you."
"And if I say no?"
The guard puts a knife on Leah's neck, "Then I guess you and your sister will die." Callum smirked again this time with an confident look. "What will it be blacksmith boy? Will you help me, or will you die."
It was all so sudden for Eli. Not only was his life on the line but his sister's as well. He started thinking to himself. Was it worth dying so this general couldn't get his hand on whatever this "Something" is? If he did die the general could just go onto the next blacksmith house and convince them. Even so curiosity was getting the best of him, even under dire circumstances. He wanted to know what this something was. But was it worth it?
Eli stands up and stares at Callum dead in the eyes. "My name is Eli Longflame, not Blacksmith boy. You want me to help you? Fine, but you will not harm my sister."
"Oh don't worry she won't be harmed, but she will continued to be tied up until you complete your task. If you don't then I'll have her killed. Do we have a deal?"
The look on Leah said it all. She didn't want to die. She was too young. She never asked for a life like this. She never asked to be the child of a blacksmith. If he could make it he would make Leah princess of Kridel. But now he has a choice to make, help this lunatic, or sacrifice him and his sister. Eli closed his eyes and sighed not knowing what was the right answer.
