#16 "He's my protector"

Sorry for the late chapter as I was busy in exams. But from now on, I'll try to publish a chapter daily so stay tuned.

Along the way Ethan in his usual, not caring state, was nodding in sleep. His head had already hit the window twice because of sleep. Manager was red due to anger but he didn't say anything as the Young miss was there too.

Emma was quitely going through some documents. This was her daily routine. As she was the Young miss of a big family in modern age, she couldn't slack off. And her dad was also sick. So she had to do alot more stuff.

After some time Ethan felt the car stopping. He was sleeping but he was paying attention to his sorroundings. Now that his senses were alot sharper, he didn't have to be up to notice things. Ethan could tell, the household of young miss was at quite distance from the city because he wasn't that sleepy anymore.

Manager went out and opened the door for Young miss. She in her usual elegant manner, got outside. Ethan also went outside, unwillingly though. Now he noticed that this Young miss, was hella rich. Just looking at building, he knew they were rich asf. The house was so big from outside that Ethan was stunned. Now he was curious as what they did for living.

Emma went inside from the big door. The architecture of this house was also old fashioned. It wasn't like new houses. It was ancient from look. A person could tell that this house is not simple at all from any angle. Ethan also followed behind Emma nicely. He also started showing a bit of manners as he saw a butler type person and maids in house. He thought to himself ..

Is this still year 2019?

Still modern city?

Ethan was confused because he was looking at things that were all old school. From building to person, everything was old. As Ethan went in, there was a long hall. The decorations in hall were all ancient type. He could even smell the oldness from these things. He was perplexed to know that in this time and age, there was still a family like this. He wasn't sure now if getting involve was a good decision or not. But he knew one thing, the girl walking in front of him, he wanted to protect her.

Many maids and servants were looking at Ethan to guess what this young man was doing here but they knew if he's walking behind young miss then he couldn't be a simple person as well. Ethan was also looking at things in this house because he never saw stuff like this. He was intrigued by whole old era feeling in this house.

"Are elders in meeting hall?", Emma asked the butler who was following silently. Ethan did notice the butler but his presence was so weak that he would be lost even in a crowd. Ethan was thinking stupid stuff again but he thought that that's how someone will be a butler i guess.

"Yes young miss. They were notified of your arrival and they are in meeting hall." Butler answered softly. Emma nodded and kept walking. Ethan was now looking forward to the things that were going to happen as his life was too normal before. He was excited.

Soon they arrived in a big hall. It was so big that Ethan started re-evaluating the size of house. He felt some strong people in hall. He looked towards the center of meeting hall. There was a round table with 7 chairs around it. Four chairs were occupied by some old fogs. There were men standing behind each elder. Ethan knew they were bodyguards of these elders. He first observed the elders and didn't find anything special because they were around level 17 and level 18. Then he looked towards the bodyguards and he was impressed. Because these body guards were all around level 30 to level 33. They were good. Two men were carrying swords like old times. Another one had guns on his waist. The last one, that was the most different from other three, he was carrying a spear by his side.

As Ethan was checking them, they were also trying to gauge his strength but they were disappointed as they couldn't feel a single speck of energy/ki from Ethan. This was the special effect of system. System could hide his level and energy from anyone. It was like an inborn ability of System given to him.

Emma soon arrived at her seat and sat slowly. Ethan like others, stood behind Emma. The other body guards were surprised to see this. Because Everytime only the lackey, the manager, was with Emma, protecting her but now there was a difference. There was a different man standing behind Emma, that was no different than a normal person.

Elders also notice this thing. They also felt weird because they were fully aware of Emma. They knew she wouldn't bring a simple man to hall meeting. So they also paid attention to Ethan.

"Sorry for calling this meeting, but as you all may know now I that was attacked once again from a member of Night Rover a few days ago." Emma's tone was gentle but there was over bearence in her tone. She was showing her position as young miss of family.

One of the elder spoke up. He was wearing a nice black suit just like a good owner of a big company. "We heard about it. Thank god you are safe." The elder said lightly smiling. From his expressions, it felt like he was relieved but his tone wasn't that much nice. Ethan noticed the details as the all other people in hall also did. Emma also knew but she kept silent about details.

Another elder with a little goatee spoke up" "Emma its good that you are safe. But i am curious about the Young man behind you. Will you introduce him? I'm sure everyone wants to know." The elder spoke in an intimate tone but underlying meaning was clear ...'why did you bring an unknown person in here'

Ethan wasn't a kid so he soon came to conclusion that the relationship between elders and Emma wasn't that nice.

Emma looked at other elders and noticed that they were also hoping to hear an answer. She softly, in her usual gentle voice said "He's my protector. So you don't have to think too much into it. And one protector can be brought in meeting so i brought him. No one should have any issues." There was overbearence in her voice

All elders went silent. No one said anything about this.
