Yasuo’s P.O.V
“How are you today?” I asked Ahri as she stepped into the store. She gave me a smile before saying that she was good. She started helping me sell things to the customers, although most of them just glared at her. Why were they glaring at her? They were fine with her just yesterday. I decided to close the store for a bit to ask her what’s going on. Although, a huge crowd was forming outside and none of them looked happy. Some of them even looked shocked, but most were furious.
“What’s going on?” I asked as I stepped outside, deciding that it’s better to leave Ahri inside. Before I could say anything else, one of the Ionians shoved a piece of paper in front of me. He had closely cropped hair, along with dark brown eyes. He only wore a simple leather shirt followed by pants and shoes. I took a good look at the paper, as a hole slowly formed inside of me.
“You’re being fooled the whole time! You’re falling for her witchery! Don’t you see it?!” The Ionian shouted. “That wretched fox!”
He tried to step inside to get Ahri, but I stood in front of him.
“I’m sorry, but you aren’t going to get past me. I admit what you saw in that picture was true, but what’s written underneath is a complete lie.” I said, not giving any hint of anger. “What I have with Ahri only matters between us. You don’t have the right to say that about her. If she was using witchery, don’t you think I would’ve noticed by now?”
The Ionian looked away, his face clearly full of cowardice and embarrassment. He had nothing else to say. I then started to shout to everyone else who was in the crowd, “As you already heard my explanation to this idiot here who decided to embarrass himself, it isn’t your place to interfere between us. To whoever took this picture, all I have to say is get a life and stop spying on others.”
And with that, they started to walk away although the Ionian who shoved the paper at my face stayed. It seems he still isn’t convinced. He was looking down at the floor as I stood in front of him. All of a sudden he threw his fist, aiming for my face but with a flick of my hand, I blocked it using the wind. When he saw this, his angered face faded away. Now that I wasn’t focused on his face as much, I saw that he actually had a muscular build and was almost as tall as me. I was taller though.
“H-How?” He stammered.
“You underestimate me.” I said before he could say anything else. Now, he looked even more idiotic. He kept his head down low as he walked away. I don’t normally treat people with such coldness, but if they say such things or hurt Ahri, then I won’t forgive them.
I still had the paper in my hand and figured that it’s best to show her even though it may hurt her. She had the right to know. I walked back inside, ready to show Ahri the paper, but I saw her lithe figure on the floor face down. Her luscious black hair was spread out on the floor, making it look like she had dark blood flowing out from her. Her nine tails curled around her body, like a furry blanket. I was immediately by her side, helping her up.
“What’s wrong?” I asked Ahri as I used my hands to wipe away her tears and hold her close.
“I think it’s better for you to stay away from me...” Ahri said in a small and quiet voice. She clearly heard everything that happened outside.
“Ahri, stop saying such things. Can you hear yourself?” I replied instantly. “Don’t let what they say bring you down. You love me, I know you do and I love you. They’re not a part of what we have. When we have each other, none of them matter.”
“Love…is such a strong word to use..”
“Ahri! Don’t do this to me now. We finally manage to have each other, and yet your pulling yourself away from me! Don’t let this one piece of paper ruin our relationship!!”
