Chapter 9: Lucy's her name

Natsu POV

"I know you said you're from Magnolia, but..." she goes on and on and on. She talks so much. I've kinda been tuning her out. Honestly, it surprises me she hasn't asked why Happy can talk. Almost everyone does.

She's been walking behind Happy and I for ages.

"Why are you still following me?" I ask the girl.

"Because I still don't know you're name." She says. I roll my eyes. This girl...

"Look, I'm not going to tell you my name, so just get lost, Alright?" I ask.

I get lost in thought, thinking about how annoying it is, until I realize...

It quiet. I turn. She's sitting at a ledge looking out at the river maybe a yard away from me and Happy. Probably about where I told her to get lost.

She's smiling. I sigh and walk over In her direction.

"Natsu." I say, standing behind her. She turns her head and looks up at me. Smile.

"Lucy." She says, standing up. She holds out her hand. We shake hands. Her name's Lucy.

"We done now?" I ask. She smiles and nods, heading back the way we came from.

"Lucy!!" We hear one person call. She stops walking. The call is distant, but still nearby enough to hear.

"Lucy!!" Another person yells. She's frozen, eyes wide in horror.

"Is something going on?" I ask her. She doesn't say anything, just stands in fear.

"Lucy!!" Another person calls out into the cold dark night. The voices are getting closer.

Then I realize. If she's from here. If she can't leave home, her family, then she's been out way to late. Shes in trouble. The kind that would stop a person frozen.

"I'm dead." She says so quiet, it's almost a whisper.
