Chapter 11: Blue Pegasus

Natsu POV

"I'll run for you." I tell her, with a smile, hoping she'd stay. Please stay.

"No thank you." She says, pulling her hand away. My smile turns to a quick frown. My heart thumps against my chest heard as she walks out of the guild. My eyes stay wide.

"So uh, who was that again?" Gray asks. Lucy...

"Natsu?" Happy asks, tapping my shoulder after a while of me still standing, frozen. I don't say anything.

"It's one in the morning Natsu." Erza tells me. I don't care. I don't want to move. I don't want to do anything. Because I know.
I'll never see her again.

Time skip

Happy sleeps soundly next to my hammock. I, unlike my friend, cannot.
My eyes stare up at my spruce wood ceiling. I sigh, thinking hopelessly. Why do I even care so much? I don't know her. She doesn't know me. Why does it matter?

But then, I think of how her blonde hair flowed in the cold night wind, or how she laughed when I tossed her up to happy, or why I even told her my name. I couldn't leave her alone. I can't leave her alone.

I've made up my mind.

I quick swish out of bed, careful not to wake Happy. She may have been annoying, but I still care. I can't let someone get hurt the way I know she'll be hurt. It's not right.

I slide on my sandals and run to the train station. Maybe I'll find her, catch her before she gets home. I catch the last train and wait anxiously. And then I throw up.

I run off the train, into the streets of Clover. I look around. It's dark and no one's outside. I think. Where would this girl I know almost nothing about go?

I run to the old woman's house, the one who's, I'm assuming, granddaughter told Happy and I about the monster.
I knock. No answer. I knock again. The door clicks open.

"You again." She says with a smile. Some how I get the feeling that I'm not welcome now that's it's past midnight, even though she is smiling.

"Do you know of a girl named Lucy? She has blonde hair?" I ask the young woman. Her smile fades a bit.

"I heard she ran away from home maybe an hour or so ago." The woman tells me.

"Yes, but have you seen her? I was with her earlier and she said she was heading back to Clover." I explain. She shakes her head.

"But if you know where she is, you should report to the Heartfilia Konzern. They've been searching for her all night." The woman tells me. I shake my head.

"I don't think that's a good idea. If she didn't make it back home then..." I say, almost talking to myself.

"Is there a high school nearby?" I ask. She nods.

"Yes, West Wind High is just a few blocks away." She tells me.

"Thank you." I thank her and run off.

I keep running until I see the school. I search the large perimeter of the school. I don't see anything. Or hear anything. Or see anything. Most importantly, I don't smell anything. I stand there and think.

She's not in Clover.

I try and think back to any conversations we had.
She said she would have to keep running. If she were to stay in Clover, and she normally doesn't get chances to practice magic at home...
Blue Pegasus.

I run further and harder. It's just outside Clover Town. If she really wanted to go somewhere her parents wouldn't think to look, I'm guessing she's go to a guild near by, not a far away one like Fairy Tail.

I stand in front of their doors. Will anyone be up or even here? I knock. No answer. I knock again. No answer. I kick the door open.

"Is anyone here?!" I call before looking. Then I see. She's sitting next to a man with orange hair. She's frozen still staring at me.

"How did-" She starts. I run towards her with relief.

"Oh thank Mavis you're ok!" I call and hug her.

"Natsu?" A voice asks. Bob. Blue Pegasus master, and a friend of Gramps'.

"Shouldn't you be at home in Magnolia?" He asks me.

"Magnolia?" Their guild asks. I shake my head.

"No, i needed to make sure she was ok." I say looking at Lucy, who looks angry at me.

"Hold on, are you Natsu, as in Salamander?" One guy asks. I don't say anything. Yeah, sure I am, but is that important?

"Natsu, What did you do to find me?" Lucy asks with unwavering anger.

"Took a train to Clover, asked about you, went to the high school, then came here." I say. Her eyes are wide.

"Who did you ask?" She asks me with fear spreading her face.

"Well, not sure of her name, but she's the one who contacted Fairy Tail for that monster." I say. Lucy's eyes form tears.

"That's the mayor's daughter, Natsu." She tells me.

"So?" I ask, my eyebrows furrowed.

"What did you say?" She asks. I tell her word for word. She shakes her head.

"Now they know I went into town, withouth my father or any one at the house, stayed out past midnight, met with a guy who barely knows me and is now asking about me. Oh, also there's the fact that you're from Magnolia! And you're a wizard! And she's probably realized that I helped you with that monster, and that I practice magic on the down low, and that they should follow you! Natsu, they had to have followed you!" She yells, tears streaming down her face. I really messed up...

"This is why I told you I had to run, Why I said no thank you. I knew you'd make idiot mistakes, I knew you'd be too foolish to understand!" She yells. Now I just feel even worse. She stands up and heads for the door.

"Where are you going?" I ask. She shrugs.

"Far." Is all she says before opening the door. She takes a step out, and then suddenly steps back in and closes the door, locking it.

"Or not."

Ok, so I want to start counting how many words each chapter has. I would like my goal to be at least 1000 words per chapter, because I'm kinda just now realizing how short each chapter is (I'm on chapter 11 and the story just barley has started)
With that, comes the fact that each chapter might not be only one POV, it might be both Lucy And Natsu, or I might even do someone else's POV.
