-Ashleys point of view-
School was over. I raced home and got all my home work out the way. I had told Skip to be at mine 15minute before so I could introduce him to my parents before everyone else came. I got changed and helped my Dad set up an area for drinks plates and sauces for the bbq. It was so hot outside. Everything was going to go perfect. Everyone knew how strict my parents are so I told them not to start making out or anything. I was in the kitchen carrying the plates outside when the door went. It was Daniel. He was actually wearing a proper top instead of ones that had his arms on show, I guess he wanted my parents to like him. I smiled at him and grabbed his hand as we walked outside to where my Mum and Dad was.
‘Mum, Dad, this is Daniel.’
‘Nice to meet you Daniel, i’m Charlie and this is my wife Laura.’ My Dad seemed to take a liking to him.
‘Hello Mr and Mrs Thomas’
‘Oh please call us Charlie and Laura Daniel’ My Mum smiled over to him.
He just smiled back. My Dad asked him if he wanted to help him the bbq tonight. Daniels eyes lit up. My parents actually seemed to take a liking to him. I was in the kitchen with my Mum getting some cups.
‘He seems like a charmer’ My Mum winked.
‘Mum!’ I said whilst blushing.
‘So Ashley how long have you two been an item?’
‘Almost 7months’
‘And he hasn’t pressured you to do anything?’
‘No Mum, Daniel isn’t like that.’
‘Ashley, I think the reason we’ve been so strict is because we were scard of you growing up but seeing him reminds us ofwhen we were young. I’m happy you’ve found someone like Daniel and I guess we can be more flexible with the other rules aswell’ She smiled at me.
‘Omg thankyou!’ I hugged her.
The doorbell went. I answered it whilst my Mum joined Daniel and Dad in the garden. Everyone had arrived. I took them into the back garden and introduced them all, but Jess, to my Mum and Dad who seemed so happy. Daniel was getting on amazing with my Dad. All the food was cooked and on the table. We all grabbed some food and sat on my trampoline. My Mum and Dad decided to go inside and watch TV and give us some space.
‘You’re Mum and Dad seem to like Daniel, Ashley.’ Jess smiled at me.
‘Who wouldn’t like me? I’m adorable.’ Everyone laughed at Daniels joke although I think he may of been serious.
We had been sitting on the trampoline messing around for a few hours. My Mum came out to say everyone had to go soon because we all had school tomorrow. Nobody seemed to mind. I walked them to the door as they went. I was so happy my parents were so cool about everything now.
-Daniels point of view-
Surprisingly me and Ashleys Dad got on so well. We both supported the same teams in soccer. It was nice finally getting to meet her parents. She had been over mine and met my parents loads. She has even stayed over whilst they were home, they loved her and now I could finally say I’ve met her parents and the fact that they liked me made me feel so proud. When we left Ashleys we all walked the same way home. Luckily we all lived in the same area just a few streets apart. Everyone was walking in couples, I felt lonely so I was texting Ashley the whole way home. She was so happy about her parents liking me and she told me about how they were gonna be more flexible on the other rules. Ashley fell asleep texting me that night. So I decided to leave her some cute messages for when she woke up. I was kind of jealous of Beau though. He got to spend every night cuddling with Jess. I wish I could just cuddle up with Ashley every night. I love her.
