-Jess’s point of view-
It was a Saturday and everybody seemed to be busy. I wasn’t working today. I had finished almost all my English and History coursework which meant I only had Art coursework left and lesson work to do. I wanted to go out and have fun with everyone but the one day I’m free everybody is busy. Typical.My parents invited me and Beau round so we decided to go there. The house was silent. Usually my Dad would be screaming over the football or something but there was nothing. I had a key so I just let us both in.
‘Mum, Dad? we’re here.’ I shouted.
‘In the living room darling.’
As I opened the door with Beau behind me I saw everyones faces as they shouted ‘SURPRISE’ I jumped backwards as Beau caught me. The room was decorated with balloons and banners. All the banners read ‘IT’S A BOY’ and stuff about this being a baby shower. There was a table filled with food and another with gifts. I was so shocked. How did they manage to keep it a secret? I had become good at getting Jai and Luke to tell me everything. Damn they were sneaky.
‘God guys, you know how to give a pregnant girl a heart attack’ I said holding onto Beau. I saw they left the sofa free so me and Beau went over to sit there.
I wasn’t really expecting a baby shower. I’m only 17. We already have a lot of things for the baby yet they were handing us gifts. They gave us blankets ,toys, dummies, bottles, they had even got us a camera and a photo album for pictures of our baby. It was so cute. I showed everyone the latest scan pictures and told them about the name decision. Mum, Dad and Gina decided to go to the pub for a bit so us teenagers could have some space. I was thinking this is going to be one of the last times we can all just mess around together. The baby is due in less than 2months now and I still had a lot of school work to be getting on with. We decided to turn the music right up. Everyone was dancing then I saw James sitting on his own in the kitchen. I walked over to him.
‘What’s wrong James?’
‘I was just thinking, when the baby comes the janoskians will slowly stop.’
‘No James. That will never happen. If anything you will have your newest member’ I smiled to him.
‘But I don’t want you to have to look after him all on your own’ He was such a cutie.
‘I won’t. I’ve got all the girls. You and Skip will always be around. I doubt Jai and Luke will actually ever leave unless it’s changing the baby and of course I’ll have Beau. As long as I have Beau supporting me, I’ll be fine.’
James smiled. I grabbed hold of his arms and pulled him into the living room where everyone was collapsed on the floor. I went and got some more food and then came back in to a changed atmosphere. Everyone had gone from dancing around to making out, apart from me and Beau.
‘Oi guys, get a room?’ I laughed. They all blushed but carried on.
Beau stood up and walked over to me. He pulled me into him and kissed me on the forehead. ‘I love you Jess’ He smiled.
‘I love you too Beau’ I kissed him back
It was getting quite late. We were beginning to wonder when Gina and my parents would be back, although I didn’t really want everyone to go. We decided that we’d dance to a few more songs before everyone started going home. Justin Bieber, Boyfriend came on TV. I loved this song. It was a song that put a smile on your face. All the boys began singing it to us girls while we were dancing around. It got to my favourite part when liquid trickled down my leg.
‘Erm Jess I think you may have wet yourself, getting a bit to excited over Bieber?’ Skip questioned whilst stepping backwards.
‘Her waters broke you dick’ Beau replied.
‘No, no, no. This is two months too soon. No it can’t be’ I said breaking down into tears.
None of us knew what to do we just rang an ambulance and panicked. I was so scared. It shouldn’t be today. It wasn’t for just under 2months. What if something bad was happening. Everyone tried calming me down. Nobody could get hold of my parents or Gina so Jai decided he would go to the pub they said they’d be at and tell them to meet us at the hospital. The ambulance arrived quickly although it felt like forever. Beau came in with me whilst the others got on the bus to meet us down there. When we reached the hospital, Jai, Gina and my parents were already there. They all came in with me.My contractions were coming quite often and the nurse told me I would probably have our baby in the next 4hours. Wow.
Everyone finally arrived and they were trying to keep my mind off the whole agony. Honestly, it was like this for hours. I was 9cm dilated so I was told to get ready. I was stressing by now. I asked if everyone could wait outside, except Beau. I wanted him with me the whole time. Sometime later I had given birth to Aiden Brooks. The doctors and nurses had to do a load of tests to make sure everything was fine as he was extremely early. He was.
Everyone came back into the room as I held Aiden in my arms. Tears falling down my face. ‘Say hello to Aiden Brooks guys’ I smiled.
