Wake Up

"Wake up..."

"Wake up."

"AWAKE!"

And with that I jerk my body up and gasp like it is my first time feeling the air fill my lungs.

"Rise my Horseman. My Chaos."

Everything was blurred, like my eyes were filled chlorine. There were blurred figures before me. I rubbed my eyes and they became clear. A large man with blue skin, human like feature but demonic. Next to him was a dark-skinned girl with ice white hair.

"What's going on? Who are you?" I felt so weak. Like I haven't moved I grab for my chest as the memories come flooding back. "I died. I was de-"

"Yes, but not anymore. I have brought you back. Join me. You were a prisoner. You were taught to hide. I have freed you. I have save you."

"You didn't answer me. Who are you?"

"I am known by many names. The First One, Genesis, but you will be known as Chaos. It is time to embrace your gifts. The world has treated you like an animal. Now, you are a god. My child, help me save this world. Let me set you free."

He gently grabs my hand as his dark eyes turn white. Slowly the air that once felt so sweet escapes me. My skin is hot like fire as this energy pulls me in every direction. He lets go and it stops. My body feels stronger than ever. I look at my hands and my skin is changing. It becomes iridescent and then it disappears. And as quickly as it goes, it returns to normal. My senses are heightened. I can see everything. I can hear everything. From the fly rubbing together its legs at the opposite end of this damp metal room to the heartbeat of the white-haired girl.

She approaches me. "Ten years ago, you were killed by humans. Before that you were imprisoned by mutants who called you friend. You were taught to hide. As was I. And now we can be who we want. We can be better. Join us." She holds out her hand.

I died. I died angry. Angry at the ones I considered family. Angry at the humans who murdered me. Angry at the world.

I nod my head as I take her hand.
