Heungmin's POV 🌙
"Race you," she said, a smile playing on her lips. I had let us into the house and we had been kissing on the porch for the past twenty minutes. And my brother thought I'd never find anyone! She didn't even wait until I'd let go of her waist before she had set off running up the stairs. I swore in Korean and followed her, and maybe I let her beat me. But nobody has to know that.I found her lying on my bed, laughing at me through heavy breaths. "I win," she said.
"Yes," I laughed. "Yes, you did." I lay down beside her and wrapped her in my arms. It felt good to have her so close to me, to feel her body against mine. I kissed her slowly, savouring the moment. I wanted to be like this forever. She pressed her head against my sternum so I stroked her face. Her skin was so soft and smooth. I loved every single thing that she did, every single part of her body, every little quirk in her personality.🌙🌙🌙
"Audrey?"
"Yeah?" She asked. She was sitting on the countertop in the kitchen. I was standing in front of her, hands on her waist.
"I need to tell you something. It's important."
"Oh?"
"I-" I stopped. Get it together, Heungmin. You are wrecking this for yourself. "I- I love you."
Her whole body seemed to freeze. Panic flooded through me. It was too soon it was too soon it was too soon. "Really?" She asked softly, placing her hands on my shoulders.
"Yes," I said, feeling more confident in myself. "I do, Audrey. I really do."
"And I," she said, "love you, Heungmin." It felt so good to hear her say my first name. No one ever used it, so it was special to me now. She hoisted herself forwards and wrapped her legs around me. I quickly supported her by her lower back and spun her around, kissing her again. The world seemed to vanish around us.And I know that I kiss her a lot, I just like it, okay?
Audrey's POV🍋
He said it. He actually said it. He told me he loved me. And meant it, I could tell. It was so amazing because I knew exactly how much I loved him, and he had verified that he felt the same way. Everything was perfect. I was only 24 and my life was perfect.
I received an email later on from Karen about the next match that weekend. It was against Manchester United, one spot below us in the Championship. It was all very exciting. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't called Womanchester United, but none of that was up to me. I looked at the lineup. It wasn't great, seeing as that Millwall match at the start of the season had claimed half our players. Rianna was back, though. I was put in attacking midfield rather than defending midfield, which was a bit weird but I didn't question it. We were instructed to balance our training with rest so that we were top of our game on Saturday afternoon.
In the three days leading up to the match, I trained harder than I ever had before. Thanks to a huge improvement in my stamina, Io could keep going for much longer. I felt so much more efficient. I would collapse onto i i bed evemry night and fall asleep immediately
, then wake up at a weird time of the morning, wide awake. I would then have to force. myself to go back to sleep until a more sociable hour. It wasn't the nicest, but it would be worth it. BOn Friday night, I sent a highly important text message:
You got a match tomorrow?
I didn't move until the response came.i
No it's on Sunday
I breathed a sigh of relief. I couldn't help smiling.
Can you come watch us tomorrow playing Man Utd? Kickoff 1:30, tickets on the door
He was typing forever and ever.
Yes of course! See you there xWhen Saturday came, my muscles were burning, but it was a pleasant feeling. I was fired up and ready to go.
It was a cool day with little to no clouds - perfect for football. We arrived at Cheshunt early, but fans were already there, which was exciting. I couldn't see Heungmin though. We took our positions on the pitch. I could see the opposition's fans giving us dodgy looks. It made me feel pretty uncomfortable.
Suddenly, I saw the crowd part like the Red Sea, and little whispers ripples through them. I knew what was happening. I saw him approaching the field, looking a little shocked at the attention he was receiving. I smiled at him, and he smiled back when he saw me. I didn't even notice the match begin at first. I was almost knocked over by a throng of players.
The match was a good challenge for us, which was nice. I worked hard throughout. I could feel his eyes on me, watching my every move. I was nothing on his smooth perfection, and we both knew that all too well. I wanted to show him how good I was, how well I worked.
The first half proved goalless. We were all knackered by the time the whistle blew, but we had fought well. As I was walking back to the changing room, I felt a familiar pair of hands on my hips. I spun around to see Heungmin smiling at me. He pulled me into a tight hug in which I pressed my head into his chest, inhaling his soft honey smell. It was so comforting. "You were amazing out there," he said, ruffling my hair like I was a child.
"You think?" I asked, desparate for his appreciation.
He nodded. "I reckon you could teach Llorente a thing or two. He needs it."
I laughed before standing up onto my tiptoes to kiss him. "Hey," I said. "Looks like I'm the sweaty one this time."
He smiled. "You wouldn't know."
"I'm not even red?"
"Your cheeks are a bit. But you look amazing."
I was a bit stunned. "Seriously?"
"Yes, you do."
I kissed him gratefully. I felt so safe in his arms.
"I need to ask you something," he said, his voice softer than usual.
"Sure, what's up?"
"What can I call you?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like, my girlfriend?"
It was the second time this week that he'd made my heart stop like that. I felt myself blushing. "Only if I can call you my boyfriend."
He took my hand in his. "Looks like we have a deal."
