Winkle's POV 💎

I don't understand about Audrey. I knew I'd fallen for her since I saw her picture when she was transferred. She's beautiful, beautiful unlike anyone I have ever seen. And when she came so close to me that one night, I could barely contain myself. I mean, I love Avery, of course I do, but Audrey is different. Avery sort of makes you notice her, through flashy clothes and glaring self-confidence.

But seeing Audrey in the end of season lap, I felt like something was off. She was so weirdly attached to Sonny. I know it sounds so bad, but she's too pretty for him. Way too pretty. And honestly? I don't think she really loves him. She did all the right things: holding onto his bicep and kissing him and acting every inch the doting girlfriend. It made me uncomfortable to watch. At the same time I felt a little jealous of him, since Avery barely showed me any affection at all.

I was a bit scared that Avery would catch me looking at Audrey - they are best friends after all - so I look away and distracted myself with idle conversations with my teammates. At one point, I found myself talking to Del, who I noticed came alone.
"Where's Megan?" I asked him.
"Don't care. She cheated on me, can you believe it?"
Having met her once or twice, the only honest answer is yes, but I didn't say anything so I didn't hurt his feelings. But he gave me an idea. I know it was wrong, but I felt like I had no choice.

I took Avery's hand, albeit a little aggressively, and walked over to where Sonny was playing with Jan's baby. Avery instantly started talking to Audrey so I started chatting with Sonny. I made a very calculated move and pressed my hand against the small of her back. I regretted it immediately and I knew he saw me. Shit. He moved a little closer to her and I dont think I have ever seen him look so serious.

She left to go to the bathroom, though I think it was an excuse. I felt a little bad, so I didn't look up and to see the presumably furious faces staring at me.

"Audrey," I said, following her. She ignored me. "Audrey. Please."
"No."
"Audrey please listen to me!"
"I'm not interested in you, Harry."
"Why?"
"What do you mean, why?" She turned around, with fire in her eyes.
"I mean, why him and not me?"
"What's your problem? Maybe I'm not into lads who think all girls should be obsessed with you!"
She's smart. I didn't anticipate this. "Audrey," I said. "Do you really love him?"
"You mad? Yes!"
"But, like... really? Because it seems like-"

Her hand hit my face so quickly it winds me for a second and I couldn't breathe. And then, she was gone.

Heungmin's POV🌙

I couldn't believe it. Winksy had been my mate for a ridiculously long time, and yet he did that to me? I didn't want to seem like one of those boyfriends, but Audrey meant the world to me and I couldn't help but become protective of her. She was scared.

We didn't talk for a while after we got to my place. I didn't want to take it out on her. I pulled her closer to me and the way that she held me back told me that she never wanted to let go.

Audrey's POV🍋

"Don't get into too much trouble!" I said, kissing him one last time before he left.
"I'll do my best." And then he disappeared onto the plane. I smiled and walked back out of the airport. It wasn't the first time we'd been in different countries, but it still felt different.

"Ave, are you going to Madrid?"
"Couldn't pass up a holiday in Spain."
I laughed. "You really don't like football, do you?"
"I mean, it's like everyone in my life at the moment is a footballer," she said, tapping her long nails on the table. We'd met up for the first time in a while, just to catch up again. "So...what happens if they win?" There was something strange about her tone.
"That would be amazing," I said, confused.
"No... I mean-" she gave me a little smile that I read immediately.
"Oh, Avery!"
"No, seriously. I think you should. It's a highly convenient time."
"It's easy for you."
"It can be for you. I'm taking you to Victoria's Secret."
"Now that is too far."
"Audrey, please."
"I don't trust us while shopping."
"Me neither. Let's go."

So I did. She pulled me through the strong-smelling, massively crowded lingerie store, picking things up and rejecting them. She picked up what looked like a spider made from black lace. "Absolutely not."
She smiled. "For me, then."
"For you, yes."
"Alright, for you, we need something soft and light. Maybe blue... no, to sweet. Or pink... mint green... no, no." Then, she swiveled round to face me, putting her hands on my shoulders. "White! Definitely white."
I raised an eyebrow as she started going through shelves of bras. She leant went through sale boxes and then through the staggeringly expensive non-sale items, before pulling out a white bu del of lace that vaguely resembled a bra. "Are you joking?" I asked.
"No. It'll look gorgeous!" She handed me some matching knickers and smiled. "Knock him dead, baby."

I stood in front of the mirror in my bedroom, trying to see all the angles. I saw a different girl in front of me. It turned out that it was in fact a bra and did make sense, eventually. I imagined him there with me, holding me by my waist and kissing me with increasing passion. It felt good to think that way.

The plane journey was incredibly dull. I was sitting next to Avery, who slept the entire journey. I leant my head against the cold window and followed the clouds until we touched down in Madrid.
