Sacred Responsibility

The next day I follow Blinky and Arrrgh to James' dwelling, and I see him trying to activate the amulet. I smile.

"For the Honor of my father, Light come to me."

I watch as both his amulet and my crystal glow and I am instantly encased in my armor. 

"Come on boy, concentrate!" I whisper.

I watch him close his eyes and the amulet rose to meet his chest, and his armor encased him as his sword appeared on his back. 

That's how it is done.

Blinky gets closer to the door, and the other human sees him and points. Blinky takes that as an invitation to enter the Trollhunter's home.

"AHA MASTER JIM!"

I look at Blinky confused, Jim?

Arrrgh shrugs and follows, and I stay near the entrance.

" I knew it was but a matter of time before the amulet called to us." I heard Blinky say.

"called to you?" I heard James say.

"Actually no, we've been spying on you." was Blinky's reply.

I pinch the bridge of my nose and started to shove my way under Arrrgh's arm, then thought against it and waited for him to fall through the doorway on his own.

That was when Blinky noticed the other boy.

"Master Jim, we trolls  have gone through great lengths to keep our existence safe from your kind, lest there be panic- like that."

I watched the boy stand on the table with a metal spoon, pointing at Arrrgh.

"It's all right Tobes. This is my best friend, Toby D." James explained. I decide to use that moment to enter.

"The Boy was at the Choosing, Blinky. It would have happened anyway." I say as all eyes turn to me.

The sword of daylight points at my chest, and I sigh and raise my hand. The sword disappears and reappears in my palm. 

"Yield, Trollhunter- I mean no harm."

I hold the handle out for James to take, and he does and sheaths it on his back.

"Who are you?"

Toby points his utensil at me, and I just glare at him.

"Oh my gosh, that one has like 800 eyes, we're gonna die!" Toby points the utensil back at Blinky.

Blinky smiles, " Hardly, your friend is the Trollhunter- his noble obligation is protecting."

Toby seems to process his words, "Protecting? You mean like a superhero? Ohhh, Can I be his sidekick with a cool superhero name like Deathblade?"

Realizing his friend had calmed down, I turn to James who had waved to get our attention,

" Just wait, who would I be protecting?"

"Us," I reply before Blinky's, " and mankind from bad trolls, as well as goblins, gruesome, and the occasional rouge gnome."

I place my hand on James' shoulder, " The mantle of Trollhunter is a sacred responsibility; one that has never been passed to a human before. This is a momentous occasion."

He frowns at me in confusion, " What about you, you're a human aren't you?"

I was about to answer when I hear a loud honking from the front of the building.

"AHHH, IT'S MY MOTHER, Uh EVERYONE UPSTAIRS QUICK!"

All five of us rush after him, where he leads us into a small room and slams the door.
