Chapter 16: Paper Walls

(I left because of some events that transpired over the past year or so, but I feel bad for leaving you guys with this so I'm gonna finish what I started, I'm sorry)

Zill laid on the floor currently only conscious enough to wonder how it got this far, Jack, the one of the kindest people he had ever known had become this. But it dawned on him. This was inevitable. He could've done everything in his power to help his friend and the best he most likely would've done was just to stall it, but no, this was inevitable. Everyone breaks at some point and when you have the whole world pointing guns at you paper walls could do nothing...

Zill looked down at his legs, one of them Jack had broken completely and it was contorted to the side. He had no energy, no strength, left in him to keep going. He was done. He looked up and sighed as time seemed to start moving again only for his throat to be met with the end of a steel hook.

(There are going to be short 'Thought Chapters' which explore the mindset of the character in it. Now I understand if you're confused how Zill got here but you'll get some answers in the next chapter, Too Fast)
