Every moment of Katherine's life in Wales was a piece of shit filled with a bunch of turmoil. The misfortune she experienced had caused her to think of herself as a mere pipsqueak and for sure it had felt like a cuff on her face. She choose to flee to Kenya where her husband would have normally gone in situations like this. There she had stayed for quite some time, living like the Hermits.
Although she preferred a quiet life, the wealth she had acquired from her dead husband still kept her intact. She had bought one of the most expensive houses built on the mountain top with personal housekeepers in it, own two convertible Porsche and a private helicopter. She had it all, but her heart still didn't.
It had been a year since she moved into Kenya, generating different hobbies like mountain climbing, writing, painting and dancing to the locals played on radio stations she listened to. She enjoyed going to lake Nakuru to relax her nerves, enjoying the fresh natural scents, the elegant and colorful pink of the flamingos and the huge hippos that gather at the center of the lake like little children among their associate playing all sort of games. Katherine was fascinated by this and took her camera along with her to capture moments. It was fun sometimes, it wasn't some other times.
Katherine took her normal route to the lake, and for the first time she had gone really late. She found none of the amazing creatures she normally looked at, the ones that gave her joy and reminded her how happy she was before the death of her dearest husband. She heaved out a long sigh then quietly sat down by the bank of the lake staring at the glittering waters. The ray from the moon penetrating through the gigantic leaves, resting it's bluish lights on her plump but well carved face.
As she watched the waters swirl, she thought of her dead husband.
It was so early in the morning when he said he would be traveling for a meeting to see the prime minister of Israel. She wanted him not to go, but He insisted giving that He had already booked a private flight. She was pissed because he had promised the weekend with her and for that she didn't give him a safe journey kiss as she usually did. "I'll be back tomorrow, I promise" He said with his forever bold voice, his tone meaning every word he said. But after his kiss on her fore head, he never came back. One, two, three, six years all gone and now he has been presumed dead. She was now among suspects as to the missing or killing of her own husband. Who knows, they might even think of her as the one who did it since she has left the city without the notice of anyone.
She startle as a toad hoped on her, jerking her back to reality. "Is anyone there?" she  asked, finding it strange for a toad to hop out so quickly from it's hiding place. "You don't have to hide" she continued getting up as she heard the little shuffling of the grasses. She was scared cause she had never been outside this late. She turned instantaneously as she felt a hand touch her, Her heart beat was scant, words loosing its meaning in her mouth. No one was there. She pushed her hair back trying to relax herself, only to see the movement of a person walking towards her, she staggered back in fear, "Who are you?" She kept asking as she moved backwards. She was almost falling into the lake, when her hand was firmly held. She closed her eyes already thinking that she was in the water only to find out that she wasn't, she was held by someone who she thought wanted to kill her.
He pulled her up, causing her body to rest on his, but she immediately separated from him. They stood awkwardly quiet.
"Thanks. I would have drowned if I had fallen into that water." She started, her eyes focused on something else and not his face. He didn't answer.
"And I thought you wanted to harm me, that's why I attempted running away". She stammered a bit. He still didn't answer, his body still in a spot. She got angry and frustrated. " Christ!!!are you a fucking_" She froze, no word ended her statement, she felt lost, her lip were intertwined with his, with a stranger. Waves of confusion rushed into her, she felt like her strength being devour by his passionate kiss. Her legs were weak, her hands where paralyzed, she could hear her heart beat rise and fall matching his, she felt the strong masculine hand around her waist and on her cheek, a sweet touch_ a touch she had felt before, a feeling that she had once felt before but was stollen from her. She felt his lips with hers, she tasted it, she knew the taste, the unique taste, the unique smell and elegance, the strong physique he had. She knew him. She tried not to believe, but she couldn't help it. She knew she cant be kissing a ghost. She stared again at him, and the light of the moon shone on his face.
She thought no more but just stared, little tears escaping the conner of her eyes. She rested her hand on his face, and felt it if he was really dead.
"Is this really you Adam". She said, stammering a little. " Why did you leave me, why did you leave me. Why?"
He kept silent still looking at her eyes. Then he hugged her. "I am sorry I did that. I didn't mean to I swear". He said. " They planed to kill me on my arrival, but my escort save me, and escaped to this place. I knew if I had met you, they would have come for the both of us, but I didn't want that. Am really sorry". He said, tears coming out from his eyes. He shifted from her a bit his hand intertwined with her's. "But here we are, together again. We don't have to bother anymore." He smiled at her.
She looked at him not having an idea what to say. "I really miss you Adam" she finally said. "Promise you'll never leave me again Adam."
He smiled "I promise I would never leave you forever, Katherine" He said, then kissed her. They finally sat down together looking at the waters.
