"Okay I am going to go the underground market- if I don't come back by 8:30 pm, be nervous." Memmie explained to Lila, as she stuffed a small wad of cash in her back pocket along with her cell phone. Lila bit her lip- "Never mind, you don't have to get the dye." Lila began to interject. "No- I'm getting it. It's fine." Memmie stated softly, she tried not to snap. But before Lila could say anything else Memmie left the house.

She knew the trail of the underground market, wasn't her first time going and she knew in her lifetime... it wasn't going to be the last. When she got there it was full but to her surprise it was somewhat empty. Maybe people weren't in dire need of things that were illegal on a Thursday. Yet it worked in her favor, considering that the New Age Land government consisted of old aged pricks who order raids on the market often- and very few got out alive.

Memmie scanned the area for hair dye. She felt like she was running short on luck. Her nerves were out of balance and control. Memmie wasn't one to make eye contact with multiple vendors considering this is where prostitutes got part of their income; didn't wanna make one think she was trying to offer them into a good time. Finally when she felt like all hope was lost she saw a small vendor with dye. Memmie ran up to the stand to see that it had different colors to choose from.

"Like what you see?" A voice asked, she looked up to see what was deterring her from what she came here for. Before she could register a face to the voice. Their mark stood out to her. It was a moon, with sliver coloring and the half of the moon was black. "Do you have blue?" Memmie looked up and them, it was a man; but she focused her gaze on his mark. He nodded, and pulled it out to show her. She tried to reach out and grab it- but he teased her by pulling the dye closer to him, "C'mon look at me, I don't bite." He spoke. The action froze her somewhat. No one was this bold towards her. Let alone a man.

She furrowed her eyebrows at him, glared at him. Now she finally got a good look at him. He seemed the type of guy to never hurt a fly- so why was he testing her buttons? Yet he had that mysterious demeanor that intrigued her to an extent. His hair was messy, seemed undone. "Never said you did." Memmie shot back. He broke into a smile- slowly as she bit her lip in nervousness. "You're nervous. I can see it in your face." He told her in a matter of fact tone. She tried to detour the topic, "Are you gonna gimme the blue or not?" Memmie wondered softly.

"You got the cash for it? I can't handle a sticky fingers in my stand." He prompted. Memmie pulled out her cash, "How much?" She wondered. He was impressed, since he figured she was a  little shifty with the nervous mindset he decided to do her a favor. "It's on the house. Since you have a pretty face." He complimented with a smirk and a wink. Memmie couldn't help but blush. "You're pretty too." She replied, making him laugh. "Pretty?, that's a first." He noted. Memmie shrugged, "I call boys pretty, it's my thing when I'm nervous." she excused. As she took the dye.

"You need something- I can sense it." He commented, suddenly he rummaged through his bag of accessories and suddenly he handed her a prescription bottle full of pills. "Morphine.." She recognized, "You have the wrong person- I am not a druggie, and I don't need Morphine." He shrugged response, "Keep it. You done making business with me?" He asked, "I need to close up shop, since my partner is busy giving herpes to his girl,Jesus." Making Memmie laugh. "Que vida." She responded. Making him confused.

"You're Hispanic? You guys are..." He trailed off, God it was so obvious. The way she looked, it was practically jumping out at him. "We're rare, I know." Memmie finished his thought, he saw her mark. Saturn. "That's a shame." His voice was full of pity. New Age Land did a mass extinction- the mass race and will always be whites. There was a soft handles of other races but the mass handling was Caucasians. "You guys are just missing out that's all." She instantly thought about her parents. Gone in a blink of eye. Random selection- her and her siblings were lucky. Never seemed that way though. Families had the right to stick together- so why didn't theirs?

"Then show me what I'm missing." He prompted. Making her blush, "You're insane, whatever your name is." She bluntly said.

"Tyler."

"Memmie."

"Well Memmie, I'm walking you home."

"I don't think it's necessary, gracias for the offer though."

"I wasn't offering, I was stating."

Knowing that Tyler didn't want to budge with walking her home. So she reluctantly agreed, "Fine. C'mon let's go." With that Tyler grabbed his bag and headed off saluting everyone he knew meaning he was leaving. Memmie saw how they respected Tyler in the black market. Reminded her of her parents. Knowing that they used to run this hectic circus of what is the black market.

A few vendors recognized her face, she wasn't a usual contender but history is history. Memmie was a part of history she tried to forget constantly, before she met Lila she was a mess. The scars that she externally carried and internally she constantly fought to forget. They wouldn't never let her forget. That was their payback.

When Lila came along she was able to forget for a while until the nighttime came along. How she hated the night. She usually stayed up. Bags under eyes and everything in between that came with insomnia, working at night suited her as the receptionist at the emergency room during graveyard shift suited her. But tonight was her night off... She hasn't visited her personal hell in a while. What a pleasure it would be to hide her episodes to her friend.

"You're respected." She blurted, taking Tyler off-guard. "More or less. Seems like you are too, people usually cat-call the women that pass by. Not you, why's that?" Tyler brought on. Memmie internally froze. "It's none of your concern." She spat, walking faster. Tyler caught up and grabbed her arm and pulled her closer to him. "Look, I'm sorry if I touched a sore subject, but I do that a lot. I question the things that can be questioned." He apologized, seeing that she was trying not to fall apart.

"Well, stop it." Memmie murmured softly. Tyler smiled, he had a nice smile. A safe one. He moved a stray hair away from her face, tucking it behind her ear. "Kind of hard, not to." Whispering it, near her ear. Goosebumps trailing down the two standing there.

Suddenly soft glows emitted from somewhere. Memmie's Saturn mark was shining soft cool colors ever so slightly while Tyler's moon platinum was glowing and catching to the eye.

That only happened, when you found your 'soulmate'.

"Well... I'll be dammed." Tyler breathed out.

Memmie connected the dots, her breathing fastened and panic arosed in her body. This was bad, she couldn't have this- she was too much to handle, and there was too much at stake. Tyler didn't know, and he didn't need to. She was fine being alone with Lila- and that's how it needed to stay.

"I... gotta go, I'm so sorry." Memmie blurted out. Running off into distance, before he could chase her down she was out of view and into an alleyway that shortcut a way to her house.

The brunette swung the door wide open and slammed the door as she walked in. "Goodness is everything okay?" Lila wondered cautiously. Memmie tossed the dye. "Take it." Not looking directly at Lila. "Mem? What's wrong?" She repeated.

"My mark glowed."
