Laetus> "I've already forgiven them. They didn't mean to hurt me and I know that."

Cantor> "It's still hard when something like that happens though...I'm glad that you are handling it well."

Laetus> "Thanks!"

She threw me a quick smile and we kept walking. Right now I am in her ?֖%@) dimension. The location is probably what I would consider the Ledge in my dimension. It's a nice trail with pinpricks of the sunset poking through the trees illuminating a perfect path. This part of her dimension is very peaceful and calm, filled with little wonders and oddities if you take the time to look for them.

I've been in Laetus's dimension once before but, not to this location. I'll try to fill you in on what I know about her.
1. She is joyful. I'm not saying she is happy all the time. I am saying that she chooses to have a positive outlook on life.
2. She is beautiful (Yeah I know you all want more details but, that isn't what this is about.)
3. She is caring beyond belief. She greets people with enthusiasm that makes them feel like they are the only person that matters in the moment.
4. She is unselfish. She puts others before herself and she would have to be in a rare mood to see her genuinely complain. (Sarcasm doesn't count).
5. She speaks her mind. Sure, half the time it doesn't make sense and come out in strange little sentences birthed out of nowhere but, needless to say it's amusing.
6. She doesn't need your approval. In fact she might enjoy having you be against her just for the fun of it.

Overall she is a really cool person to be with. She also has a stunningly beautiful ?֖%@) dimension. One of the most pleasant I've had the pleasure of being in.

We arrived at the end of her trail which overlooks a lake. The lake marks the boundary of this arena. We both have a seat by the waterside. She lets out a sigh, flops against my shoulder, and puts her arms around my midsection in a semi-awkward embrace. Feeling the slight breeze I wonder if it is more for warmth than comfort. Either way, I let my head to the side to rest gently on the crown of her head.

Laetus> "Have you ever wondered what happens if you break the boundaries in this dimension? I tried running through it once and it felt like I was making headway. Then after about three minutes I looked up and I was exactly where I started. It wasn't like I hit a wall or anything I just never moved no matter how many steps I took."

She shivered and looked up at me and I could feel a twinge of pain in her eyes. To some this could appear as a mild frustration but, I could sense there was something more important lying beneath the simple questions.

Laetus> "I feel like some people are so unhappy with their arenas that they always try to push against the walls. They put all their efforts into escaping where they are at that they don't try to change the scenery. I wish I could help them escape. I wish every last one of them could see what you are seeing now. A sunset over a lake. It's nothing crazy and fun but, it could give them a little hope that everything isn't as bad as it seems."

I looked down to see two tears slowly roll down her face. I saw the whole landscape flicker for a few seconds. It then returned to it's initial form. This was the first time I had seen Laetus cry.

Then I understood what this was about. No more than two weeks ago we had a friend named Gurges take his life. We were the last ones to see him in his ?֖%@) dimension. It was two days before the act. Both of us noticed he kept looking at the walls of his room. He commented on how scared he was of this place. How no one listened. That he couldn't find one beautiful thing about this place. We talked for a while and the shadows in his room seemed to retreat back to the corners. A few tendrils of colored light started to flow around the room. Each person carries there own color of light from which they can make things (though nothing material) across dimensions. The teal (myself) and sky blue (Leatus) lights intertwined in the center of the room. It made a simple sign saying "Not Alone". Gurges had looked up and a smile had touched his face for the first time in months. It was also the last time.

I snapped back to where I was. I was standing, arms around Laetus, both of us weeping. Shaking, as the wind blew over us we simply stood together. We stood there until my shirt had been drenched and she looked like she had stayed in a rain storm too long. No words were exchanged. None had to be. As much as can be said with words- silence is always clearer.

Eventually she peeled herself away from my chest and wiped the few remaining streams from her cheeks. Both of us took a deep breath.

It was night now. Cold and dark apart from a few sky blue fireflies floating about. We watched them spin their patterns in the night. The peace after the storm was here. It was a tranquility mixed with perfect clarity. Not muddled or marred by anything. As if a serpent that had been coiled around your heart had finally been cut loose. It was an experience that you would have to go through yourself to fully understand what I'm talking about.

The perfect silence was then disturbed. From somewhere behind us there was a rustling in the trees. Laetus looked back with confusion as to what the noise could be. A grin pulled at the corners of my mouth. Out of the half illuminated path, flew my hoodie, smothering her face before finding a proper resting spot over her shoulders. She gasped, let out a snicker, and brushed the recently displaced hair out of her face.

Laetus> "Thank you."

She squeaked out in a voice just above a whisper.

Cantor> "You looked cold."

A warmth from somewhere outside of both of us flooded the area. In the External we would call it hope. Here we call it votum.

Laetus> "I knew your light followed you everywhere but, I didn't know you could bring objects from your ?֖%@) dimension into mine."

She stared at the hoodie which she had now securely wrapped herself up in.

Cantor> "I spend a bit more time in this dimension than you. I would hope I could learn a thing or two. This is the only object I've been able to move easily."

Laetus lit up-a new spark of curiosity on her face.

Laetus> "Teach me how!"

The train of thought didn't last very long. But, all the same, she did manage to move a dried up twig around in a circle for a bit. We filled the rest of our time sharing things we had in our Vaults.

The last one we came to before we phased back to the external was- "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn."
