Emma's POV:

"High five babe!" I told David as we landed at my house. "I'm so proud of you!" I expressed kissing his cheek.

We walked inside my house. "Hey uncle Stephan. David and I'll be in my room packing for our trip tomorrow." I mentioned to my uncle.

"Okay, Em." He grumbled in my direction as we headed upstairs to my room.

We walked in and I started to pack my bag as David laid on my bed making jokes and comments.

"I knew from the start our plan to get the gang back together would work. Those mutton-heads never saw it coming." I conceded, plopping myself right next to David on my bed.

"My smart, dazzling beauty. You are correct." He kissed me slowly. "Can't stay long, Hiccup and I have to fill in our dad of the plan tonight. See you tomorrow after breakfast, my love." He added kissing my forehead before he was walking down the stairs, leaving the house.

I'd miss Berk after we leave. But, it'll be nice to leave town for a while.

Astrid's POV:

I arrived at our house just as David was leaving on his dragon Shadow. I walked inside the house.

"Hey, uncle Stephan." I said in his direction in the living room.

"Astrid," he responded barely making eye contact. He never talks to anymore since his sister our mother died along with our late father.

He cared for both of us but painfully couldn't look at us sometimes without being reminded of his only sister, our mother Leah.

I walked to Emma's room. "Knock, knock." I spoke knocking on her halfway, closed door.

"Hey, Astrid. What's up?" She responded from her desk.

I walked into the room and sat on her bed. "Oh, this must be serious." She noticed since I barely go into her room. Her attention was fully on me now.

"Well... um... I don't know how to start this but... um... Hiccup and I kissed." I confessed. Looking away from her eyes. "I'm conflicted Emma. You have no idea... in my heart I want Hiccup. But my natural warrior mind tells me otherwise."

"Well, for starters amazing improvement, sis! But who initiated the kiss this time, though?" She asked curiosity eating her alive.

"It was me but he had plenty of times he could have. Well actually he did kiss my forehead. He seemed more confident. Like he's been practicing or something. He even wasn't afraid to hold me as we kissed. I gushed, blushing profusely.

"Ugh, this is what I was afraid of. I'm losing my focus. I'll see you at dinner. I need to clear my head." I admitted, then abruptly left her room before going outside to Stormfly.

Emma called out to me as I flew away towards the forest. "You're afraid to let your heart open to love!"

She wasn't wrong, but I would never admit it. I told Stormfly to fly quickly to the Cove. As we landed in the Cove, I fell to my knees in tears. Silent, small tears that were flowing down my face until Stormfly comforted me.

"I'm okay, girl." I told her hugging her, in comfort. "I'll be okay..."

I stayed in the Cove so long I fell asleep. I woke up to darkness around me.

I quickly woke Stormfly and we flew back to town. I went inside the house. Slowly, crept to my room as quietly as I could without waking anyone.

"It isn't safe to be out this late especially with Dagur on the lose." Emma whispered from her doorway to her room, arms crossed. She scared me a little but she didn't notice.

"I know that... I fell asleep in the cove and lost track of time sorry sis." I apologized. "Also... sorry for earlier. I'm honestly terrified to let my heart  open to love..." I added.

"Luckily, I'm here," she responded hugging me in the dark. I hugged her back. I couldn't turn down a good hug.

"I'm glad you are here... I'm gonna get some sleep. See you in the morning, Emma." I yawned. I went to my room and laid in my bed.

I looked up to my mural on my ceiling, of a bunch of Deadly Nadders. I got that two years ago to appreciate my beautiful Stormfly.

It's another reason why I love Hiccup unconditionally. He painted it for me just by me simply asking him.

I rolled to my side. He always happened to do something for me without a second of hesitation. He has to like me back, too. Maybe, this trip away from Berk will help us realize?

Hopefully.

I fell asleep about ten minutes later.

Hiccup's POV:

~Next Morning~

I woke up to my dragon licking my face. "Aww come on Toothless! Really! You know that doesn't wash out easy!" I complained pointing at him playfully. "Come on bud. Let's see if anyne cooked anything yet."

We walked downstairs. David was talking to Dad as he was making breakfast. David was always the better cook between us both.

"Hey, David, Shadow, and Dad." I yawned sitting at the table with dad. Toothless went and sat near me.

"Morning son. Heard today's the day you both plus the gang head off to capture Dagur?" He asked looking my way.

I nodded. "Yeah, I told everyone to meet at the arena after breakfast. Then, we'd all head out."

"Dad, we'll send a Terror Mail if something bad happens that us eight can't handle." David interjected placing breakfast for us three on the table.

"I know ya will, boys. Just be careful out there. It's all untouched, unseen by other vikings out past the cloud banks." Stoick stated.

I looked to David as he was looking to me. We nodded in understanding. We knew the dangers that could happen out there.

"Also, don't wanna hear about you two butting heads on who should be leading all eight of ya." Dad chuckled shaking his finger at us.

"We never!" David and I said in unison. The three of us laughed at that.

"Well, I guess it's bye for now, Hiccup. David. I've got lots of chief meetings today. One day one of you will take over and deal with this job." He expressed getting up from the table. He pat us both on the back then left the house.

"Come on David. Let's go ahead and get to the arena now." I replied finishing my food. He finished his own.

"Yeah, let's start our on adventure into the Great Beyond!" He chuckled as we left.
