Chapter Four

    I walked through the Groundbridge and saw all the bots looking down at me. I looked back as the dragon walked through. Jack, Miko, and Raf’s eyes widened and Ratchet took a step back, optics wide. I found it odd that Bee was gone but pushed it aside and looked at my brother and friends. “J-Jenny, step away from the dragon, slowly.” Jack said, holding his hands up. I glared at my brother and crossed my arms, frowning. The dragon must have sensed my attitude, because it rubbed its head against my side, making me stumble slightly.

    “COOL!” Miko yelled. She ran down the stairs and stopped next to me. “Miko!” Jack yelled. “Where did you find it?!” My Asian friend asked, leaning over to be eye level with it. “It was hurt and I helped it.” I signed, shrugging. I looked down when it sniffed my hands, not sure what I was doing with them. “This is so cool! You're lucky today, Jenny!” Miko said, holding her hand up. The dragons pupils widened and he let out a low warble, nuzzling her hand. “Awe! It likes me!” Miko said, smiling like an idiot.

    Raf slowly walked up behind Miko and peard around her leg, gripping onto her shorts. The dragon noticed him and let out a crooning noise, leaning its head forwards and sniffing at the smaller boy. Raf gasped and ducked back. The dragon tilted its head and blinked. I sat on my knees next to the dragon and held my hand out to Raf, signaling to take my hand. He did after a moment and I slowly pulled him towards me. The dragon sat still and watched Raf with wide eyes, sniffing the air,
    I set my hand on the side of the dragons head and slowly did the same to Raf’s. He stiffened when the dragon leaned into his touch and purred. “Whoa! Jenny, your mom is never going to believe this!” Raf said, petting the dragons head. I looked up when Jack finally walked over. I stood up and jogged over to him and grabbed his arm. “Jenny!” He complained as I drug faster over to our friends and the winged lizard.

    The dragon looked over at Jack and looked him over. Jack stiffened and looked down at the black animal. We all backed up when it stood up and sat like a person, looking down at us with its frill/ear things perking up. I mutely giggled and Miko busted out laughing. “Jack, I think it’s trying to show you up!” Miko said, elbowing his shoulder. “Hah hah, very funny!” Jack said, crossing his arms and turning to our friend. The dragon leaned over and sniffed the side of Jack’s face.

    My twin turned his head and looked at the dragon, wide eyed. Suddenly, the dragon licked my brother up his side and his face, making his feet come off the ground a foot or two before landing again. “Ugh!” My brother groaned. We all laughed, even the dragon. But, we stopped when a blue light went over the dragon. It jumped like a startled cat and got behind me, pulling me towards its side with its tail and snarling, looking around. “Whoa! It really likes you, Jenny.” Miko said, looking the dragon over.

    I tried to get passed its tail, but it kept blocking me, still trying the find the light source. “Optimus, Jenny’s creature is male and the flap on its tail is a fake, which is why it had trouble flying after she fell off most likely.” Ratchet said, showing a scan of the dragon on the screen. “Oh! So, you're a boy!” Miko said, patting his head. “Help, please!” I signed, still trying to get over his tail. I got on the ground and started to crawl when his tail fell on me, keeping me pinned. He let out his strange laugh.

    Now he was doing it for fun. I pushed his tail off and scrambled to my feet, dusting off. We all looked over when the monitor beeped. “It’s BumbleBee.” Ratchet said. He answered the com-link. “BumbleBee, we found Jenny. You can come to the base now.” Ratchet said. “:Yeah...Well, I found something of my own…:” The scout said. “What?” Ratchet and Raf asked. “:T-Two humans. One’s hurt really bad and the other is pounding on my window trying to get out.:” Bee said. “Let me out, you stupid contraception!” Came a man’s voice. “We can hear that…”  I signed.

    We all jumped and turned when the dragon roar and took a step forward, teeth appearing. “Retractable teeth?! Cool!” Miko yelled. But, he kept roaring and seemed to be upset. “Toothless?!” The man yelled over the com-link. I held my hands up and tried to calm the dragon, but he kept roaring and trying to get passed me without hurting me or anyone else. “Ratchet! End the call before he hurts someone!” Jack yelled, douging the dragon's tail.

    “Wait! Tooth-!” He was cut off when Ratchet ended it, sighing. “We’ll learn more once they get here.” Ratchet said. I grabbed his harness and pulled on it. He stopped, most likely not wanting to throw me across the room and let out a sad noise. I wrapped my arm under his chin and petted his muzzle, calming him down. “That man said ‘Toothless’. Could that be his name?” Raf asked. “Let’s test it. Toothless!” Jack called. The black dragon lifted his head and looked over at my brother.

    He pulled away and bounded over to Jack, sliding to a stop in front of him. “Well, he came to it.” Jack said, looking away from Toothless and down at Raf. Toothless took that as the perfect time to lick him up his side again, making him come off the ground. We all laughed, mine making no noise. “Well, looks like yourself a new friend, Jack.” Arcee mocked as my twin tried to whipe the slobber off. My muted laughed were cut off when Toothless came back to me and sniffed my throat.

    I stiffened and leaned my head back. “I think he's starting to understand why you're not speaking.” Jack said, rubbing his sleeve across his face. Toothless’s eyes widened and he flicked his tongue against my throat, making me clench up and giggle, mutely. He sat back and looked me over, letting out a warble. “I think he's trying to figure out if you're hurt anywhere else.” Miko said as the dragon started to sniff me. I grabbed his chin and made him look at me. I set my fingers on my throat and tapped it, trying to tell him it was only my throat, or voice.

    We all looked over when a yellow camaro pulled into the base.
