I woke up on the couch in the base and sat up. Everyone was gone, even the dragon's. I mutely gasped and looked over to see Eret standing a few feet away. I got up and walked over to him. My heart started pounding and my legs started to shake. As soon as me fingertips touched his shoulder, he spun around. I stumbled backwards and landed on the couch.
I looked up at him and my eyes widened, tears pricking the corners of them.
Eret was covered in blue and red liquid, most likely human and Autobot blood, and his eyes were glowing a dangerous purple. He looked down at me with a dangerously evil smile and held up his knife, which was also dripping with blood. I backed up, eyes wide and mouth open, scared. I recognized those eyes. They were the eyes of Megatron. Eret turned all the way to me, chuckling. I shook my head, tears streaming down my face.
I was too scared to sign and I can’t speak. I was a sitting duck. I opened my mouth to scream as he raised his dagger and brought it down towards me.
I let out a mute gasp and my eyes flew open. I sat up quickly and kicked something that was next to my foot. “Ow! Jenny, what-Jenny?” Eret asked, surprised. “Oh no, not again!” Jack said, running over to me. “Again? What again?” Valka asked, hurrying over as well and setting her hand on my back. “She has nightmares sometimes! But, she hasn’t had one in a while!” Jack explained, kneeling down next to me. “Jenny! You’re okay!” My brother said, putting his hands on either side of my face.
“Eclipse! Where’s Eclipse?!” I asked, signing quickly. “She’s okay too. She went for a fly while you were sleeping!” Astrid said, walking over. “Ratchet! It happened again!” Miko called, looking back at me. The orange and white medic walked over and held his servor out. “Come on, Jenny. Let’s get you checked out.” Ratchet said. Jack put my arm over his shoulders and helped me stand and walk over to Ratchet’s servor.
When the nightmares first started happening, I wouldn’t tell anyone and they got worse. So, Ratchet being the medic, he felt like it was his duty to help me. So, he made a machine that went through my mind and found the bad dreams and he’d show them to Optimus and no one else. Mom doesn’t even know about the dreams. I sat in his server as he carried me out of the room.
I couldn’t help but look back at Eret. His eyes were their normal color, but with a hint of worry in them. ‘How could I ever think that Eret would hurt me or anyone else?!’ I asked myself, wrapping my arms around myself. I slid off his server as he lowered me into the machine he created. There was a bed in the middle and I had to stick a wire to my head. I’m still not sure how it works, but it does. I've seen him watch the nightmares on the screen once or twice, trying to figure out why I'm having these nightmares.
I hooked myself up and laid down, letting out a breathe and closing my eyes. I felt myself get pulled back into the nightmare, but it was too quick for me to really relive it. But, it always felt weird thinking he could see whatever he wanted to see if he wanted to. But, he may be grumpy most of the time, but he still thinks about others. “Alright, Jenny. Me and Optimus will look at this later.” I sighed mutely and nodded as the bot picked me up again.
I sat there as he carried me back to the mainroom, where everyone was waiting. “Here, let me help you down.” Jack said, walking over to me. “No, no, no! I'm okay!” I signed, throwing my legs over the side of his servor. But, Jack helped me down regardless. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. “Jack, you said you’d trust me more!” I reminded him. “No offence, sis, but you look like a drunk person!” Jack said, chuckling.
I glared at him and punched his arm. “OW!” He yelled, rubbing his arm and looking down at me. I stuck my tongue out at him and started walking backwards away from him. Suddenly, I tripped over something and fell backwards, flailing my arms around trying to get my balance. “Whoa! Careful!” Eret said, catching me under the arms. I shook my head and looked forward.
Miko had her arms behind her back, whistling, and Astrid had her side facing me, covering her mouth and giggling. I mutley growled at the two girls as Eret halled me to my feet again. “I think your brother is right.” Eret said, chuckling.
I forced myself not to blush as I dusted off. “No. I'm okay. I was tripped.” I signed, glaring over at my friends, making them laugh harder. “What is that about?” Eret asked. I shook my head. “They're being weird. It’s nothing.” I signed, waving afterward. I looked back at him and smiled. Suddenly, something rammed into my side and I was lifted off the ground.
Eclipse let out a warble and set me back down. I let out mute laughs again and rubbed her snout, making her purr and lean into my touch. “Jenny.” I turned and looked up at my guardian. “Me and Ratchet have decided you need time away from the base.” He said. I stared up at him with wide eyes. “Why?! If it’s because of my dream, that's all it was! A stupid dream!” I signed. “Jenny. It seems all that has happened in the past few days has taken a toll on you. As a medic, I agree with this decision.” Ratchet said.
“This is so unfair! I've been through worse than this!” I argued. “This is not up for debate, Jenny.” Optimus said. I went to sign more, but gave up. “So, wait, you're just kicking her off the team?” Eret asked, confused. “Temporarily, yes.” Ratchet said, nodding. “That doesn't seem fair.” Astrid said, standing up straight and looking from me to the bots. “Some things aren't fair about war, Astrid.” Optimus said before looking over at Arcee.
She nodded. “Come on, Jen. Let’s get you home.” She said before transforming. I started walk down the steps when Eclipse got in my way. “You need to stay here. I'd feel bad if I had to keep you locked up.” I signed, rubbing her head after. She whined but sat down. “You’ll be back before you know it.” Miko said, setting her hand on my back. I smiled softly before nodding.
It looked like Eret was going to say something but either stopped or couldn't find the words. I smiled at him before walking down to Arcee. “See ya around, babe!” Snotlout said, waving. “Ow!” He yelled when a wrench fell on his head and he fell over. We all looked up to see Jack looking over the side of the railing before he stood up straight and shugged.
“I must have knocked it off by mistake.” He said, making everyone laugh. I smiled and shook my head, getting on the motorcycle. “Hold on.” Arcee said before we sped out of the base.
