WARNINGS - ABUSE AND CURSING AND CRINGEY FLIRTING(???)

"I just don't understand why you are so concerned, Patton." Patton rolled his eyes, tucking the phone between his shoulder and cheek as he searched his closet for a hoodie.

"Because I haven't met them before!" he sighed, rifling through the array of different colored clothes. "What if they don't like me? What if I can tell she's not a good match for Pops, but he doesn't listen, so I have to hatch a complicated plan with you on how to break them up? What if this turns into some kind of mission impossible-"

"Pat, you're rambling." Logan informed.

"I know I'm rambling! I can't stop rambling when I'm this nervous-"

"Patton, seriously. Every person you meet instantly becomes a new friend. I'm positive that your father's girlfriend and her son won't be any different."

"Yeah, but opposites don't always attract!"

"Are... are you trying to make a joke? Are you serious?"

"I'm never serious, Logan. You should know this by now." Logan sighed in response as Patton pulled out a bright blue sweater. "Also, I'm wearing your smarty-pants camp hoodie."

"You've had that this whole time?! Patton, I've been looking for that for ages!" Patton laughed, setting the phone down and pulling the sweater on as his best friend continued.

"Relax, I've taken care of it! I'm a good sweater father!"

"That's not a thing!"

"I made it a thing!" Patton beamed, glancing in the mirror. His smile faltered at the way his hair was falling from its bun. He sighed, taking the scrunchie out and fixing it, grabbing his favorite hat from his bed. The little heart with glasses was just the cutest design, and it was officially the best birthday present he'd gotten from Logan. "'Kay I need fashion advice now."

"Patton, I know nothing about fashion, you know this."

"Oh, true... buuuut, just tell me if I look good? Pwease?"

"Fine." Logan replied, grumbling softly as Patton took a selfie and sent it to him. "You look okay-"

"Wow, just okay?" Patton snorted. "Lo, you need to work on your compliments! How are you supposed to woo your prince charming with those flirting skills?"

"Y-you're impossible." Logan grumbled, obviously flustered. Patton could just tell by his voice. "You look adorable, alright? There, happy?"

"Awww, thanks! And yes, I'm very happy now!" Patton could practically hear Logan rolling his eyes. "But, I better go, don't wanna be late! Text you later, alligator!"

"Alright, Pat."

"Love ya! Bye!"

"Those feelings are reciprocated. Talk to you later."

Patton hung up, stuffing the phone in his back pocket. He took a deep breath, calming himself, before rushing out of his room and joining his dad.

His father's girlfriend was actually really pretty, like whoa. She also had one heck of a smile, it was actually contagious! Delia Leer was a wonderful lady, and she already seemed to love Patton as her own.

Her son was a different story. Daniel was... Well, kind of strange. Not necessarily bad, but... weird. Patton felt like a jerk for thinking that, but the guy just had this vibe. Or maybe that was just Pat's nerves acting up? Yeah. Probably.
