Thranduil's POV
I searched through the dead even if I knew the battle hasn't ended yet. The orcs may have fallen but the blasted cousin of Thorín may continue for a while both to take Erobor from his cousin but also just to slay so many elves as possible.
Then I saw the thing I feared I would find.
Him
I put a hand on my still flat middle
- No not you..you can't leave us
I let the tears fall
I didn't care I couldn't take it the father of my baby was dead
I slowly raised and turned to a guard
- Take all living elves from the field we are retreating
I started to walk when Tauriel blocked my way
- No you will not run this time
- Get out of my way
She raised her bow
- Their is no love in you..you do not care
That was to much for me so my hormones got the better of me.
I cut her bow in half and leaned over her and whispered in her ear with a deathly cold voice
- I'm pregnant Tauriel and I just found the father dead you won't have to retreat but I will because I have a baby to protect from harm.
She looked at me stunned but still didn't move out of my way.
- I do not believe your lies anymore we will stay if we leave the dwarfs will die
- Oh yes they will die
- How dare you leave them to their end
- As I said I have a baby to protect and if you don't believe me then you don't but in some weeks you will be proven wrong
She took up her sword and pointed it at my chest but lucky for me she wasn't so good with a sword so I easily got it out of her hand and pointed it at her instead
- What you feel for that dwarf is not real

- ADA NO!!!
I turned around to see Legolas coming towards me
- Don't harm her
I sank the sword and started to feel really nauseous I looked up
- We will not retreat
Some hours later
Thranduil's POV
It's over finally I felt so exhausted and nauseous I could barely stand.
I started to search for Legolas preying not to find him among the dead but luckily I found him alive with Tauriel who was crying over the dead body of Kili.
I really felt bad for what I said before but couldn't open my mouth because I thought I might throw up then.
Sadly my impulse to throw up took over and I threw up just beside Legolas who looked at me like I was dying but Tauriel gave me a sad smile
- You are pregnant
Legolas looked like he was going to pop his eyes out
- PREGNANT!!! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME BEFORE!!?
- Hush son not now
I sat down beside Tauriel and held her in my arms and whispered calming in her ear
- It will be alright even though it doesn't feel like that now but it will be better I promise
I slowly let my own tears stream down my face Tauriel must have noticed because she held me tight.
I looked up at Legolas who also were crying I held out my arm for him
- Come here son
Legolas slowly approached us and sank into my arms.
I don't know for how long we just sat there and held each other but after a while I felt my nausea coming back
- So raise quickly before I throw up at you
Both Tauriel and Legolas jumped away from me and I hadn't been wrong after some seconds I threw up again.
Legolas looked at me with concern
- Ada I do not think that the battle was good for you in your condition
- Neither do I son
Tauriel looked at Kili's body with tears in her eyes.
I put a hand on her shoulder
- I think it would be wise to say goodbye now
- I...I can't
I pulled her into my arms once again
- Come we need to go back to the city
We walked back to the city and well there I rushed to the place were my lover lay and put his hand on my middle
- Here are your child and I promise I will protect it with all my power
Tears once again streaming down my face I held his body in my arms and whispered to him
- I love you and you will always have a special place in my heart but now I must say goodbye my love
I slowly raised and walked over to my general and had him summoned the living elves when I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder I quickly turned around just to se Tauriel's sad eyes.
- I saw your elk fall you can ride with me and my horse

I was so sad that I didn't feel for company but at the same time I knew that I couldn't walk away from the battle field.
I sat up on Tauriel's horse and she sat behind me I turned around to see all living elves
- Alright let's go
So we all ride away to the forest luckily no one noticed so it wasn't any trouble. When we made it back home the first thing I did was to go to my room and I laid down in my bed and let all pain and frustration from the lost of my lover take over and I cried myself to sleep that night.

Some days later
Thorin's POV
I turned around to Filli
- We need to go to Mirkwood there is no choice
Filli looked at me like I was mental
- Are you crazy do you think king Thranduil will let us in he left us to die when the dragon came don't you remember?
- Yeah I remember that I will never forget it but it is our last hope
We walked through the gate guarded by the elves.
One with long brown hair and green eyes looked at me
- What are you doing here?
- Need to talk to the king
The guard nodded and let us in and lead us to the throne room were Thranduil was at the moment but before the guard let us in she looked at us with hard eyes
- Do not upset the king he have suffered a great lost and have other....problems at the moment and needs rest so if I hear him get mad I'm going to throw you in the prison no matter what the king tell me to do understand?
- Yes
Thranduil's POV
I sat on my throne stroking my belly that was just so big that it was visible through my clothes.
I thought of the appointment the day after we got home
Flash back
I lay on a bed with Elrond checked me
- The babies look healthy
- Good...wait a second did you say babies as in twins?
- Yes as in twins Thranduil
I looked down at my middle
- Oh
- Thranduil I need you to be calm and have long rests every day
- But...
- No but's if you want to make it out alive you shall listen to me the babies took no harm in the battle but you got a little weak after.
- I'm going to stay here in Mirkwood until you give birth in case you need me

To my confusion Thorin walked threw the gates
- Elven king we need your help Erebor was taken by my cousin and only me Fili survived and we need somewhere to live.
- And you came here?
- it's our last option please
Thranduil was a bit taken away by the begging
- you may stay but if that's the case I need you to know something I'm pregnant so I will not always be there to assist you but I will give you a room and a butler. I wish you to eat with me and Legolas
