Rosie knew that she was in big trouble --- she knew it the moment she heard Jessie's voice become stern and sharp. "Rosie." Jessie said, as she towered over Rosie , for a paranormal investigator Jessie was really intimidating, it was mostly due to her tall stature , but for Rosie , what really gave her the chills about Jessie were her eyes- the very things that are said to be the windows to another person's soul- and well, Rosie has looked through Jessie's Windows... And what's beyond them scares her, but, she had to show no fear, for all she knew , Jessie could've just been in a bad mood.

" Yeah, Jess? " Rosie responded, looking at Jessie.  "I've been getting calls from people saying that a sort of apparition of a young girl has been appearing around where your apartment is." Jessie said quiet sternly . "Woah! Woah! Are you accusing me of doing that?" Rosie responded , shocked that Jessie would assume that, "what? No. I'm not accusing you of anything." Jessie said, confused by Rosie's harsh reaction . "I'm telling you that your new case is tracking down that apparition and capturing or detaining her. Why would you think that I was accusing you of anything?"

" Oh. " Rosie said, relieved, she would never go around and scaring people! Sure , she did that before, but the past is the past! She's changed now. " I just uh... Thought you were mad at me or something. " . Jessie had a shocked expression on her face "mad at you? What would you think I was mad at you?" . " Well... I... Uh... I just thought that uh... I dunno.. " Rosie responded meekly, she was embarrassed that she got that spooked of Jessie. Jessie sighed, " well, hopefully you don't think that of me, okay? Besides, I know that you're changed from before. I just want you to do this case, it's not that tough, are you up for it? " . Rosie thought about it for a few moments, obviously she could just decline, but, at the same time, this apparition couldn't even be that much trouble if it's just an apparition, the worst it could do is maybe make some spots colder or hotter. And , this was also her job-- part time job- but still her job. "Alright, I'll take a gander at it." Rosie said, smiling at Jessie.

"I knew I could count on you, Rosie. " Jessie said as she smiled back and walked off to get some files and other equipment for the case. Jessie came back with a shiny new toy- it looked like some odd paperclip abomination, it had a bunch of wires sticking out of it, some weird LED attached, and other metals melded into it. "What in the levels of hell is this?" Rosie asked, repulsed at the misshapen paperclip , "this is a new device in hopes to better lure ghosts." Jessie said proudly , completely unphased at the bulk of metal that she was holding. "Wh- just... Nevermind. How does it work then?" Rosie asked, keeping a close eye on the thing. " well, it's simple, you just squeeze this part right here and it activates to lure in ghosts with the fresh smell of life and death. " Jessie said, pointing at the clip.

"... The... Fresh smell of life and death?... How... How'd you even get that??" Rosie asked, bewildered , which is a completely normal reaction to hearing what Jessie said.
"Well," Jessie said , pocketing the abomination paperclip in her pocket . " I got Destiny to do it, she owed me a favour and I asked her to get some essence of both life and death. "

"You say that like it's a completely normal sentence with nothing out of the ordinary about it." Rosie said, her sarcasm leaking through.  "Hm, well that's true, but it's better to explain at a later time. We should get going, the clients did want this apparition gone as soon as possible." Jessie responded , as she grabbed her leather sling bag and approached the door. Rosie sighed , this wasn't the first time Jessie would brush away things like this, but, as much as she wouldn't want to admit it, she had a job to do. She'll ask again later anyways. Rosie grabbed her backpack and followed Jessie out the door. "Let's get this apparition!"
