It was a dark and dreary night.
It was a terrible storm that appeared to have surrounded the Royal Jewel Hospital, enveloping the building with a dark energy.Despite this, a miracle happened. Fate E. Slash, Queen of Mephalon, had just given birth to her third child, another daughter, named; Destiny E. Slash.
Though, there was something different to Destiny. It wasn't just that the time of her birth coincided with one of the biggest storms of darkness in recorded Mephaic history, it was that she was found by the doctor to have two souls. The family was shocked when they heard the news.
There were only a few people who were said to have two souls. It worried Fate, but she knew this wouldn't be a bad thing for her daughter. As a toddler, Destiny was curious. She was curious about many things actually, she constantly asked her parents or her two older sisters of questions on what that object was or why that object is. She didn't exhibit traits of having a second soul though. But that would quickly change. Often times, Destiny's curious and exploring demeanor would change to more of a dangerous and misbehaving tune. After these things were being noticed more and more, Fate confronted her daughter about it one night.
The door let out a creek as Fate slowly opened the door to her daughter's bedroom.
And there her daughter was, sitting on her bed fiddling with a piece of paper and a pencil in hand."Destiny," Fate said, with a caring motherly tone," what are you doing there, sweetie? "
Destiny turned her head to look at her mother, and smiled, "Oh! I'm just writing my name, mom!" She said happily. Fate smiled and walked over to her daughter and took a seat on her bed next to her.
"May I see what you did?" She asked the little girl.
Destiny quickly nodded and gave the paper to her.
On the paper were a bunch of scribbles and in very unkempt and messy child handwriting, Destiny wrote her name: 'De s τι ηγ SíLv er E. SLas h'Fate made a double take and yes, that was her daughter's name, minus the name 'Silver ' that the little one added to it.
"Destiny," She said, " this isn't your name, " handing the paper back to Destiny, pointing out the other name.Destiny took a look at the name, "that's Silver's name" she said happily looking to her mother. While Fate was still confused, "sweetie, who's Silver?" she asked .
Destiny looked around her room, before pointing to a mirror, showing a reflection of herself. "There! That's Silver!"
Fate paused as the sudden realization hit her. Silver was the other soul.
"Ah... I see then," she nodded, "Can I meet Silver?" She asked.
Destiny looked back at the mirror in silence. A few moments passed before Destiny turned to look at her mother again, except this wasn't Destiny. The way she swiftly turned to Fate, the way she roughly moved, was not Destiny. No, this was Silver.
Looking at Destiny's once hot pink eyes, now had become a deep crimson signifies a completely different person and soul from her daughter.Silver jutted out her arm to Fate, in a sort of waiting for a handshake, and looked up at her. Waiting. "Ah... Well, hello, Silver" Fate said, extending her arm out to shake the other's. "Hi!" Silver responded , her voice unlike Destiny's was more screechy despite not screaming, more raspy despite being a child.
Their interaction was slightly awkward, but a good first impression no doubt.Eventually, word got around that the youngest princess had two souls.
Rumors spread that she was the reason for the storms of darkness that appeared.
Even some gossip spread that the princess' powers were not like her mother's and not even like her father's, but that of a different family. A family that was driven out and exiled after assisting and even summoning evil demons to terrorise the kingdoms. The Redwood family.
The family is one of the few families whose bloodline was dark. And not to mention, that their name has been throughout recorded Mephaic history, not just within Mephalon, it was also in Umbre, Mortem and even to the Eastern boarder of Krenad.
And for a short while, they were even a mighty dynasty, before the people decided on new rulers.Of course, overthrowing a dynasty was hard. That was the mark of the Demon wars of Mephalon, named not just because there were demons apart of it all. But because it was a turning point of all of Mephaic history. Where the former Redwood Dynasty was finally defeated after hundreds of years of fighting.
Where Kingdoms reformed and peace and a just reign was upheld.Of course, traces of their bloodline are still said to be around. They were banished to the great Darkness, where no one dared to venture off to after the war.
But Destiny wasn't too fazed by that knowledge. Sure, he couldn't manipulate plant life like her mother and eldest sister, nor could she manipulate metals in some degree like her father and sister.
She could do her own unique things too, like harness and manipulate darkness to aid her, sure she still doesn't fully grasp her powers, but she's at least content with her abilities and could control them.
At least that's what she thought.
During her 6th birthday, an incident happened. Where her eldest sister, Hope E. Slash, was killed.
The public autopsy says that the eldest princess had slipped and fallen off her balcony onto the far far ground below her.
Though people speculate that a different story happened.
And the princess didn't just slip and fall. But a story of an accidental murder involving darkness.
But, that's a story for another time.
