Okay, I admit. I might've gotten a bit too carried away in my expectations of what the Demon couldn't possibly do.
And sadly, one of those hopeful expectations were that it wouldn't go and possess the owner of the property. Not only that, but apparently , simple chants don't work on this Demon.

And, I know what you might be thinking 'how needy!' And I wholeheartedly agree. I said all my simple chants, but all the Demon did was scream at me. So, facing it in combat probably wasn't the best idea, especially since it was possessing a human.
But it was the only other way to get the Demon out without calling in a Priest. No offense to any Priest nearby, but I was in a tight situation and couldn't exactly call any.
But, I could fend it off long enough to ensure that back up would arrive.

I know it was a terrible idea to go alone on a Demon investigation, especially just after one tried to kidnap me. But I couldn't just leave poor old man Bernard waiting as he was calling for help with a demon.

So, here I was, Jessie H. Kitasune, facing against a beast from the depths of hell. Or at least from the depths of the 3rd circle as it so proudly said before it attacked me.
I was already a bit battered up and bruised from the amount of things it threw at me, but I knew that it wouldn't last much longer with all these salt circles and prayers I've said against it. Is what I would've said if it didn't just spew fire at my face, using old man Bernard, the demon began to spew fire at me. Sure, I could redirect it, but it still nearly scared the spirit out of me.

"YOU SHALL BURN IN ANGUISH!" Demon-Bernard said as he continued to attack me.
Dodging was the smart option, to ensure that I wouldn't hurt Bernard. But,  Demon-Bernard continued to spew out fire like a toddler refusing to eat their vegetables and spitting them out. I grabbed a salt pack from my leather messenger bag, and poured it onto my palm. Now, kids, don't try this at home, I'm a professional at pissing off Demons. With my salted palm I began to start an ember, I could feel warmth extend from my core and envelop my palm, as it got hotter and hotter an ember arose. I focused and the fire became just the size to throw at Demon-Bernard's head.

"HA-HA-HA-HA-HA! FOOLISH FOX!" Demon-Bernard taunted, "YOUR FLAMES LIKE THAT CANNOT HURT ME! HA-HA-HA!" As he continued to laugh at my face, I threw my salt coated fire right into his face. I believe some got in his open mouth . And probably his eyes too, as Demon-Bernard began to scream.

"It's your turn to burn in anguish now," I said " Don't bother to try and attack me again, your flames like that cannot hurt me. " Sure, I shouldn't mock a Demon that was threatening to have me burn in anguish, but, it was very satisfying.
But, sadly, Demon-Bernard didn't feel the same way as he let out a howl before his arm shot up to strangle me. I couldn't react fast enough, and before I knew it, I was on the cold hard, and mainly charred ground, with a possessed man above me, who's got me in a stranglehold.
To say I was a bit annoyed at this would be an understatement. No offense to ghosts and dead spirits, but I don't intend on being them. That's why I grabbed Demon-Bernard's wrists and began to heat them up. At least one of my hands still had some salt on them, and luckily it was enough for old man Bernard and the Demon to separate. And as they did, Bernard let go of me and fell on one side- he passed out, which is nothing to be embarrassed about, being the host of a demon can knock someone out for sure. Bernard looked happy, despite being unconscious, perhaps he was relieved that a Demon wasn't co-coexisting in his head.

But, the Demon on the other hand, wasn't so pleased with the separation. "GRAH! NO! HOW DARE YOU, FOX!" It screamed as it began to look weaker, no more was the demon a cool blue, but now it was a plain shade of red, I'd assume brick was the proper color for it now.  And white hot steam was hissing from the places I had thrown  salt at. "YOU SHALL PAY FOR THIS! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU ARE! I'LL HAVE YOUR SOUL!"

The Demon lunged at me, just in time for it to smack face first into pillars of fire I had to quickly raise from the ground. I was sure to use my salted hand to summon them too. As the Demon began to recover from the face full of fire and salt it got again, I ran behind a tree to place down old man Bernard. I know, I know, running away from battle was really wimpy, but, I had to ensure Bernard was kept alive. Not only would he pay me after, but he was also an important factor that the Demon wants. So, as I layed Bernard down, I salted both of my hands, sure , it stung a bit, but it's a small price to pay to take down this demon.

"GRAH!!!WHERE DID YOU GO YOU SLY FOX?! COME OUT AND FACE ME LIKE A REAL DEMON!" It began to shout. Now, I'd like the audience at home to completely disregard what the demon had called me, it's completely untrue. I readied myself for the demon to walk just a bit closer to the left, where there's a clearing, and no other rocks were present. Thankfully, it was almost as if it wanted to be caught as it did just that.
Then, I focused and pillars of salted flames surrounded the demon.
"HA-HA-HA-HA! YOU FOOL! YOUR MORTAL FIRES CANNOT HARM-" before it could finish it's sentence, Blue-Green fires began to twist around the demon, effectively giving him a nice cook.

"Looks like we came here at just the right time" Rosie said, her arms were outstretched and were glowing a transparent lime green. Those spiraling flames had come from her. "You can take 5 now, Jessie, Destiny can handle that fire pillar"

I nodded and the flames of my salted pillar dimmed and sank until they were gone.
Just then, dark glyphs and goopy black splotches surrounded the ground of where my pillar once was. The glyphs had summoned long sharp and shiny pure black barracks, ones that I recognized as 'Barraknads', old things that once lined the temples and castles of Mephalon, it was replaced by better technologies to ward off demons. But that didn't mean it couldn't get the job done. Then, from the goopy black splotches came out strings- or what I assumed to be string until I realized what it was doing, the 'string' was encasing around the circle, tightening itself together, the strings from each goop splotch were moving in tandem, in a pattern of which I did not recognize. Soon, the demon was fully encased in a cocoon, its screams were silenced the moment the strings finished.

"Oh gods," Destiny panted, " That took... More than... What I expected. " She huffed and puffed as she sat down. Rosie patted her shoulder in a 'good job!' Manner.
I sighed and looked at the cocoon, then back at the sill unconscious Bernard, "Thanks for the back up." I said, looking at the two part timers, " I'm sure Old man Bernard here would give us good pay, especially since we didn't even leave a scratch on his house! " The two looked at the old white house that belonged to Bernard and agreed.
There wasn't even a dent on the paint! Pay will be good tonight.
