2 weeks later

Hermione was standing on platform nine and three quarters, waiting for Ron and Harry, when she saw Draco.

He was with his disgusting friends. She smiled and waved at him, but when he saw her, he just turned around.

Puzzled, she looked around and saw Ron and Harry. She walked towards them and hugged them.

"Hey, 'Mione", they said.

"Hey", she smiled.

They found an empty compartment and sat down.

They talked a lot and a few minutes later, Ginny joined them.

"Heey, Ginny!", Hermione said and hugged her.

"Hey!"

Ginny sat down next to Harry and they began snogging.

"Guys, get a room! That's disgusting!", said Ron.

Hermione just looked at them. Why couldn't she be that lucky with Ron?

But he just looked disgusted.

A few minutes later, Malfoy came in, saw Harry and Ginny snogging and said:

"Ew, that's disgusting. Potty and Weasle-bee."

"Shut up, Malfoy", said Harry.

"Well, he's kind of right, that IS disgusting", Ron said.

"Thanks, Weasle-bee.

Anyway, Granger, we have to meet Professor McGonagall now."

"Oh, okay", she stood up and they walked to Professor McGonagall's office.

"So, how were your last two weeks, Draco?"

"That's none of your business, Granger. And don't call me Draco, only my friends are allowed to call me by my first name."

"But I thought..."

"What did you think? That we were friends?", he laughed.

"Listen, mudblood, we will never be friends!"

They arrived at Professor McGonagall's office and Draco knocked impatiently.

He opened the door and Professor McGonagall told them to sit down.

"So, congratulations for becoming Head Boy and Girl. It is your duty to tell the prefects what they have to do, and you are the paragons to the whole school, so I would like you to act like ones."

She went on like that for a long time, and then she said:

"Okay, the prefects will be in the Head compartment in about two minutes. Mr Malfoy, you may leave now. Miss Granger, you stay here, please."

Malfoy went to the Head compartment and Professor McGonagall asked Hermione:

"So, how is the mission going?"

"Not so good, I think. We saw each other at Diagon Alley and we spend a whole evening talking and laughing, and suddenly he's all mean again."

"Well, I suppose you have to find out what happened."

"But how? He won't tell me, will he?"

"Miss Granger, you're the smartest witch of your age, I trust you, and I'm sure you will find out what's going on.

You may go now."

Hermione hoped to catch Malfoy before the prefects came, but she had no luck. When she entered the compartment, the prefects were already sitting there.
