(Dylan)
It's been months since the new house and Dani coming back. It's been none stop arguing. I expected Jensen to welcome her back with open arms, but he's been avoiding her like the plague. Earlier he even called Noah to come pick him up. How he knew how to work my phone is beyond me.
"What have you been telling my child? He won't talk to me anymore!" Dani asks, walking into the room. I sigh and roll my eyes before what she said dawns on me.
"Your child? I'm more than sure it takes two to tango missy." I exclaim, throwing my hands in the air. Dani scowls at me before placing her hands on her hips.
"You weren't in his life at the beginning-"
"He's three! He's barely even had a life yet!" I cry, looking at her as if she told me it was possible for tigers to fly. "And excuse me if you were too chicken to tell me you were pregnant! Instead you had to run off with daddy dearest to protect your 'perfect' reputation."
"You were a player Dylan! I knew you wouldn't want to take care of a baby so I left!" Dani yells.
"Now tell me what you told my child that made him hate me."
"I wasn't a player then! I became a player because my first serious girlfriend left me after having sex with me. You know how that made me feel?"
"I don't care about how you felt Dylan! You're not the one who had to carry an eight something pound baby for nine months! Now tell me what you told my kid."
"I told our child nothing! I just didn't acknowledge your existence when you never came back. So don't blame me for your mistakes." I exclaim. I walk out of the room and down the stairs in search of Jensen.
"Don't walk away from me Dylan, this isn't over!"
"I'm pretty sure it is." I call over my shoulder, going into the pool room. Jensen is sitting in the far corner, hugging his knees to his chest. I frown before walking over to him. "Hey buddy, what's wrong?"
"You're yelling. . ." He whispers. I hug him to my chest and sigh.
"It's nothing, mommy was leaving anyway." I say softly, patting his back. Jensen nods and pulls away as I hear the click of heels on tile. "Dani, I think it's time for you to go." I say, turning around and crossing my arms. I now see why Jensen is terrified of her. Besides the fact that she doesn't dress like a mother should, her blonde hair is pin straight which makes her look mean, her jawline more prominent. If I didn't know her personally, I would've been intimidated by her.
"Fine. But I'm taking the kid." She says, walking toward Jensen. I feel him grip my pant leg in his hands as he hides behind me. I shake my head and take a step backward, picking Jensen up and hugging him to me.
"You can't take him." I say sternly. She laughs and tosses her head back as if I just told her a funny joke.
"Of course I can, he's my baby. Now hand him over."
"He's legally mine." I say, side-stepping around her. Confusion settles on her face as she
goes over what I said.
"No, he's mine. I carried it for nine and a half months."
"It? You're horrible! I bet you don't even want him, you just want to make me mad!" I exclaim. Jensen whimpers into my neck. "His name is Jensen, stop calling him an it."
"Fine! I carried Jensen."
"Your mom gave me custody because no one wanted him and they didn't know when you were coming back. So I can call the cops if you try and take him from me when I just got
