november 25 1989--

"hey eds." richie whispered. it was around 3 am and richie didn't want to wake up holly or his mother.

"ya chee...?" eddie whispered he looked down at the floor. richie had insisted on sleeping on the floor. he didn't want 'his little eddiekins' to get sick. eddie was confused of how he could get sick from sleeping on the floor. but, he didn' t argue.

"do you remember that girl from the diner?" richie asked.

"the dark haired girl who kept offering food to me? i mean ya i remember her. you kinda scared her away. she was gonna give me foo-" eddie began.

"no."

"yes."

"she was trying to like... uhhh... date you?"

"ya but she was going to give me FOOD!  do you understand that??? fOoD." richie stared at him in the dark. he sat up and turned the light on his small table beside his bed, he looked at eddies eyes and smiled.

"ya i understand that you wanted food... but, i can buy you food...?" richie whispered.

"like a date?" eddie asked. richie blushed.

"i mean if you wanted it to be." he was whispering so quiet that eddie could barely hear him. eddie blushed.

"it's like you said when you kissed me. you don't like me like that... a-and i don't like you like that either." eddie was partly lying. he was starting to catch feelings for richie, and he didn't want to tell anyone. could you blame him? richie was his best friend. ever. he had never really felt a connection like that with any other person. not bev, not ben, nor mike. they were all friends, but eddie didn't love them like a friend like he did with richie. and the worst part about it, eddie didn't even know if the friendship love he felt towards richie, was even friendship love. he was thinking that it might be something more. which scared him. it shouldn't have. but, it did.

"ya i know, i know. but don't you think we could like, uh, go out for hanging out purposes?" richie whispered. eddie nodded.

"ya i guess, but no weird flirting with me chee." richie let out a loud snort. immediately covering his mouth with his hand with wide eyes.

"awww babe you know i can't do that." richie winked. "i swear if i woke up my mom and holly," he chuckled quietly. "holly will hit me with one of her dolls." eddie laughed. "well, eds maybe you could like hit her back with your dolls." eddie's eyes widened.

"i don't have dolls anymore." richie laughed.

"so you admit you used to have some." eddie blushed.

"uh, ya i guess..." richie smiled and sat beside eddie.

"i think that's cute." eddie rolled his eyes.

"please don't say i-" richie pinched eddie's lips.

"shhh...." richie winked. he let go of eddie's lips and smiled. "as i was saying, i think that's cute. cute! cute! cute! just like you." as richie said that, he pinched eddie's cheek. eddie groaned and rolled his eyes. he moved away from richie and sighed.

"you can have the bed, i'm going downstairs to sleep on the couch." eddie said rolling off of the bed.

"uh ya, sure. don't go falling in love with anyone else though." richie whispered at eddie. this cause eddie to roll his eyes.

"ya ok sure. but i won't make you any promises. cause, you know that there are soo many hot guys downstairs." eddie turned away from richie and went for the handle of the door.

"ya ok i get it. but, be quiet, i don't want you waking up mom or holly. they will get really mad at me." richie laughed quietly. "i mean, it is like 3am."

"ya ya. i'll be quiet. i will even be stealthy, like a ninja." it was eddie's turn to wink at richie. it made richie blush. he blushed really dark. eddie somehow didn't see. he was already out the door and walking through the hall. richie rolled his eyes and got off his bed. eddie didn't even close the fucking door! richie thought as he closed his bedroom door. he let out a small laugh.

as eddie was walking down the stairs, he looked at the many family photos on the staircase walls. they all had ricie, holly and richie's mother, maggie. eddie was confused of why mr. tozier wasn't there. eddie didn't want to think too much of it. he was probably on a business trip. on every single family event. eddie stopped thinking about it and instead admired richie in all the photos. richie was absolutely gorgeous. in most of the photos, he wasn't wearing his signature thick coke bottle glasses. he was wearing contacts or maybe he was just... sacrificing his sight for photos. he admired the photos of richie for a while more before he was startled by the sound of the phone ringing.

"FUCK!" eddie whisper-yelled. he started to run the phone, it took longer than it would have if he had richie's long legs. as soon as eddie got the phone he picked it up and said hello.

"hi this is beverly marsh, is this richie tozier?"

"no bev, it's, uh, eddie..." he whispered into the phone. he heard a really loud squeal from the other end. "oh my god bev." he could hear beverly smirking. "well bev, if you are not going to say anything i would like to go back to sleep."

"are you sleeping with richie?" bev asked.

"wHAT?!" eddie yelled a bit too loudly.

"you heard me."

"nO! of course not. ew."

"you don't actually mean that eddie, do you?"

"not mean what?"

"you don't mean it when you say ew do you?"

"where the fuck are you getting these ideas from bev?" eddie replied.

"just answer it eddie. like come on. you told me you were gay like i don't know... maybe 4 years ago. and, i mean richie's fucking hOT. so how could you not like him." eddie laughed.

"hehah! you just called richie hot!!"

"eddie, answer me."

"why did you call? if you did it to try and squeeze all my secrets out, its not working."

"edd-"

"oh my god! fine whatever, maybe i don't mean it when i say ew. maybe i do like richie. now what..?" eddie admitted. he heard nothing in return. "bev?" no reply. eddie laughed and rolled his eyes. oh my god, she hung up on me!

"is that true eds?" eddie was startled. he turned around and found richie standing on the stairs.

"uhh..." eddie was blushing.

"it's fine." richie was blushing too. "maybe i feel the same way too."

"oh."
