Last time on Tails and Ears

Tsunade then gestured for Shina to go. Shina only glared but gave in a second later.

"Shina—just Shina,"

"And this is Naruto"

"Well then, welcome to the Leaf Village"

Present

Naruto

And then, there was silence.

Until the woman—Tsunade— clasped her hands, and sighed. My ears perked up at this, straightening back up.

"Alright then," turning to the ninjas, she spoke.

"Team 7, I task you of showing Naruto around the village."

Shina frowned at this but I was happy—I've been meaning to go to the village and look around but now this is my chance without getting in trouble!

"And what about me? Am I just going to stay here?" spoke Shina, her brows furrowing in dismay.

"Exactly right" Tsunade smirked, noticing Shina's obvious discomfort to the idea. I couldn't care less, I was just really eager to go— out of this hospital, such a dreadful place. My tails lightly swayed in pleasure. Shina notices this and scowled at my behaviour.

'Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease... Let me go,' I whined in the mind-link, gazing into her eyes. I know she could hear me, but she was trying her best to ignore me—she still scowling.

'I wanna go see all the cool stuff the village has,' further nagging her, brushing my head on her arm, whining aloud. The people in the room just silently watched our mute interaction between us.

'I'll even try to see if I can get information about what they kno—' My ears perked up at what she said.

"Fine," Shina started, the blond raised her eyebrows at this.

"... I'll let him go"

I was heading down the stairs of the hospital building, behind the Team 7 leader, walking with the group. As we were about to head out, the leader—Kakashi?—Him, he stopped abruptly, making the pink haired girl stumble a bit.

"Wh—why did we stop?" She asked, concerned. He glanced at her but then his eyes met mine.

"You can't go out like that," he observed me, I frowned in confusion. My ears twitched to what he said, my tails dragging on the floor. I had returned into my normal form after Shina agreed to let me go with the ninjas.

"Like what?" I checked myself, did I look that dirty? I had changed last night, wearing a bit of an oversized regular white shirt that I stole and a baggy pants with a white and brown camouflage pattern to it. I thought I looked pretty cool.

"No, not that"

"That," Kakashi uttered, pointing to my twitching ears and staring at my tail, that had stopped swaying.

My eyes widened in realization.

"The villagers...," Kakashi began.

"Aren't used to something or someone out of the norm." I frowned at his choice of words, couldn't he be a bit vaguer.

"Is there a way for you to change?... Into something more human" The boy beside me spoke up this time. Pretty straightforward.

"Fine." I breathed, they watched me in curiosity as what I was about to do. I closed my eyes as red chakra emerged surrounding my ears and tails, every so slowly I could sense them fading away. A few seconds later, they disappeared out of human sight—I reopened my eyes to be matched with curious ones.

"What?" Not understanding why they were looking at me so weirdly.

"How did you do that" the boy—Sasuke— expressed.

"Uh, it's just a genjustu—it's still there, you all just can't see it" I shrugged, feeling a little awkward, I didn't like resembling a... Human. This genjutsu has always been so pretty taxing on my energy, Shina is way better at holding the justu way longer than me—she casts it often.

"How long does it last?" The older male spoke this time.

"As long as I want it to" I returned, avoiding my eyes away from him, not really wanting to say the truth of it—he noticed my action and looked away, continuing his walk out the building.

"Alright, let's go" the female chirped, noticing the man walking away. The two followed as I trailed somewhat behind, sighing.

"WOW! So co~ol." I observed around the place I was at. Humans were bustling about— minding their own business, little human baby things—children?— were running around and screaming incoherent things to each other.

There were a few older ninjas roaming around too or seem to be patrolling the area, they all wore the same type of headgear that the Team 7 were wearing. It was a weird design, that looked similar to a leaf.

The leader had shown me around a few areas of the village— the Hokage tower, the market, food places—they called it restaurants? Right now we were at the training grounds, they were kids, somewhat my age, there with their own leaders of their own group.

Kakashi spoke up: "These are the genin ninjas of this year in the village". I remained watching them as they conversed with themselves, one of the genins that peaked my interest was wearing a green full body suit— working out on some kind of inanimate doll.

I watched as he focused his chakra on his feet and hands as he proceeded to attack the doll with rapid kicks and punches, to say I was impressed—I have never seen such speed.

I looked over to another group, not far from the green-suit male— another group of three, but more precisely at a wild-looking boy with a dog on its shoulder. As I watched he conversed with his dog as if he could SPEAK to it, seconds later the dog transformed into an exact copy of him. He and his doppelganger started running but turned into a massive blur into the same doll, leaving it to have cuts everywhere, shreds of cotton falling out. They were fast but not faster than the green man.

Kakashi led us closer to the training grounds. The kids noticed this and focused their attention on us. A loud shriek could be heard as I looked to a blonde screaming in anger at this tired looking boy, muttering under his breath.

"SHIKAMARU! YOU are So Annoying!" She screeched again, in the boys face. It made me wince in pain

"Ugh, Ino..." The pinkie mumbled next to me, in annoyance. I watched as this Ino girl marched away from the boy. I observed as a man with a white stick in his mouth walked forward.

"Yo! Kakashi," the man spoke, talking loudly. I only stared. I didn't know these people, and they seem quite strong. Kakashi only nodded in response, acknowledging him.

"Hi, sensei Asuma," Sakura greeted, smiling. He nodded at both her and brooding male beside me, he glimpsed at me but said nothing.

"Ah! My rival!" the green-man spoke up—as he pointed to Sasuke.

"Fight me!"

"No Lee, I've already beaten you once" Sasuke shot him down immediately, I was interested as how Sasuke could have beaten this "Lee" person, he did seem strong while I was watching. The green-suit person pouted for a second, but got his mood back and pointed directly at me—it startled me.

"And you," He started. I only observed him, I did not trust any of them. I really didn't want to cause a scene or fight them. Really wasn't in the mood to get any of them hurt.  Kakashi must've noticed my tense behaviour but watched silently.

"... Who might you be?"
