(Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy!)

I'm not someone who shows my emotions very much. If I'm in pain, I hide it. Not this time. This pain is to much. This pain drags me down. It feels like a never ending agony, it doesn't stop.

"Alex! Time to get up! First day of school today!" That's my alarm. Also know as my little sister, Allie. I'm pretty close to her, considering she's six. Her and my dad are all I have. I visit my mom in the hospital pretty often though.

My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago. She's not expected to live very much longer. That's why I'm holding on. Holding on to her for as long as I have. All the memories I have with her will forever be drawn into my mind, and for that, I'm grateful.

As I hop in the shower, the reality of a new school sinks in. New people. New surroundings. New everything. I didn't realize how much I hate "New". Today is going to be...interesting to say the least.I'm not sure what my exceptions are, considering my last school was the lowest of the lows.

When I'm done with my shower, I apply light makeup and straighten my medium length brown hair. My hair is the same shade as my mom, which is why I will always love it, I've never wanted to change it. When I'm done I head downstairs to go to school. As normal, my dad brings me. I love it. This little time with my dad is something I enjoy about my days. I take advantage of these little moments.

"Turn it up! This is my favorite song!" Allie says
Of course, her favorite song is sugar by maroon 5, my least favorite song. I don't hate maroon 5, I just don't like this song because of how much Allie plays it on her little IPod "Oh my gosh! This song is so annoying!" I said
"Maybe to you, but I however quiet enjoy it."
Allie is kinda mature for her age, that's one of the things I love most about her.
"Fine. Only because I love you." I say.
I hear a little chuckle from my dad in response.

The timing is perfect. The song ends as soon as I arrive to school. Limber High School... how fun.

"I'll be here to pick up, okay sweetie?" My dad says.
"Okay. Love you"
"Love you too. Don't have to much fun without me." My dad smirks
"Trust me, I won't." I smile at him.
As I open the door Allie yells bye, and I reply back with a simple bye.

First day of Junior year with the first semester almost over. How bad could it be?

As I walk into school, the nerves are starting to come in. How am I suppose to act? What is it going to be like? Will be people like me? As all these questions come into view as I enter the office to get my schedule and map for school. As I enter the double doors a girl with blonde hair stops me.

"Hi, I'm Courtney! Are you Alex?"
This girl has a lot of energy. Something I wish I had at seven o'clock in the morning.
"Uh, ya that's me." I reply
"That's awesome! I'll be your personal tour guide around Limber High School!"

This is interesting. My last school didn't have personal tour guides. Granted, my school was small, so we didn't need it. This school however, is a college campus size.

Courtney hands me my own personal map and begins the tour.
"Well i see you already know where the front office is...at the front of the school."
"Yea, I kinda figured it was here." I softly laugh.
"So tell me a little bit about yourself." Courtney says as we walk down a hallway filled with students.
"Uh...I have a sister who's six, um... I like to play guitar and... ya..."
"Guitar? That's awesome! You should join band!"
"Oh, no, being in front of people isn't my thing" I simply reply.
"Neither is being a tour guide, but here I am!" I just give her a slight smile as we continue walking down every hallway in this school. Courtney shows me the cafeteria, as well as the auditorium, which are both massive!

"What class is your first" Courtney asks
"Biology" I simply reply
"Well ain't that just great! That's mine too! Now you won't have to be alone"
She bumps her shoulder to me in a friendly way. I smile back at her. So far, this isn't bad. I'm really thankful for Courtney being here. I don't know what I would do with out her.

Biology isn't much fun. The teacher, Mrs Gally, is giving us information on plant life. That's fun. I'm just glad she didn't point me out as the new student. If you couldn't already tell, I'm very introverted. I don't like attention. So being the new kid, you could imagine how much I hate this. I'm trying to be hopeful that the rest of the school year won't bring much attention on me.

When Biology is over I head to my locker to put my books away, Courtney meets me there. As she walks up to me, a guy pushes another guy to a locker not far from me. Causing everyone's attention to go straight to the two boys.
As soon as I think there done bickering with each other, the guy holding the other one against the locker, punches him.

I'm trying to pick up my jaw that has been on the floor.

He's still punching him! He's had like, five hits on him! Two other guys, who I assume are friends with the guy pinned against the locker, come and pull the guy away. When he's pulled away his eyes land on mine.

Why me?

It's like he wasn't expecting me to watch, but how could you not pay attention to this chaos! As soon as Courtney realizes that he is focusing on me, she pulls me by the arm and leads me to the girls bathroom.

"Oh my god, what just happened!" I can't tell if I'm even breathing at this point. I might be overreacting, but I've never seen a fight happened in school before let alone the person who caused this fight...WAS LOOKING AT ME!
"This stuff is normal, but Alex, stay away from him, he's a really bad person."
"Who's him?!" I reply
"Shane. Shane is the one who punched Derick. This isn't their first fight. Derick is a cool guy, not Shane...there's been...rumors..."
"Rumors?" I hastily reply
"Yea, but please calm down. I don't know what I would do if you passed out on the floor." She responds looking concerned.
"What rumors?"
"I'm not sure if this is true, but people think he's apart of a gang...who beats up people for money...possibly...even does unspeakable things to girls."

That's when I knew...I'm in a lot of trouble.
