Run! Her brain screamed for the thousandth time to Arielle's body. Arielle unfroze, her breathing picked up speed, and she gasped quietly. She blinked a couple times and gave her head a good shake. Icy breezes crept down her spine making her eyes water and her bangs blow, her element making itself known with her fear and her eyes which she knew glowed silver behind the brown contacts. Could they make it downstairs before whoever it was figured out they were here? Crap!!!! She didn't know the answer and that frightened her more.
Stop, stop. She thought forcing her spine to relax, rolling back her shoulders. If she didn't get her fear under control she would be for sure spotted. Demons can sense power and smell her scent if she hadn't sprayed herself minutes before. If she drew attention to herself she would be in a world of trouble. Arielle took a breath swallowing past the lump in her throat and closed her eyes.
Okay, she needed to think. She couldn't leave now without at least getting a look at who may be chasing her so she knew who to avoid. Slowly she leaned down into a crouch pretending to tie her shoes. Arielle hoped they wouldn't figure that she was wearing boots without laces. Her left leg propped up she pushed all her weight on to that side her hands going to her feet. Arielle gradually twisted her head to the left looking under her bangs where she heard the voices.
To her right, four bodies excluding her were situated in the hallway, three men and a woman. The woman had straight black hair that went down toward the middle of her back and had a semi tan. She was dressed in a short, tight, and white dress, her arm secured around one of the men as she waited for him to open their door. He had black hair as well and a massive muscled body and wore jeans and a white t-shirt.
The woman looked around the hall then locked eyes to Arielle. Arielle gave a polite smile. The woman nodded and plastered a fake smile on. Arielle brought her gaze back on her boot making she sure gave act of focus as she pretended to tie them.
After a few seconds Arielle glanced up and over her shoulder again. A couple of doors down from the couple the remaining men hovered. Two men had dark brown hair, stood almost the same height of 6 feet and wore black from top to bottom. One man leaned against the wall his body blocking whatever his partner was doing by the door to a room. Arielle frowned and tried to look at what rooms they were both standing by. It seemed like the same vicinity where the room Arielle and Jazz just exited.
She couldn't pinpoint exactly where her room lay but she knew it was either where the loving couple stood or where the shady men in black worked. Now which were the demons and how long did she have before she was found out?

Jazzmine looked over shoulder and was met with uprising apprehension when she glimpsed at the empty walkway. They needed to get out of this hotel before trouble arrived and made sure they took their last breath of air today. Jazz took a deep calming breath making sure she kept a great distance away from her negative emotions that way she never felt them. The feat wasn't as difficult as it seemed, she had gotten extremely good at doing it. As the saying goes practice makes perfect and all that good stuff. Jazz drew her attention back to the big metal contraption that would get them out.
Jazz was kind of sad to leave. During their almost two months of staying in St. Louie Jazz had gotten used to the food and dance clubs that she frequented with Arielle. Life was good but she knew it wouldn't stay that way and the only way to stay alive was to keep moving.
The woman in front of her in an expensive looking, scarlet ball gown twisted her body around, glanced down at Jazz and smiled again. Her dark blue eyes cut to the left of Jazz then back to her now with a frown tugging on her lips. No doubt wondering where Arielle was. Look little noisy lady, Jazz placed her hands on her hips. About, FACE, sweetie. Jazz thought as she gave her a what-are-you-looking-at look. Nosy Red Dress smiled apologetic then turned her attention back to facing the men in suits.
