"Mik? Mik I know you're in there. Can I please come in?"

"No-" Michaela's voice cracked when she replied and she buried her face into her knees, trying not to cry as much as she wanted to.

"Mik, please unlock the door. I just want to talk." Jared said again, his head against the door.

"Please go away."

"I'm not leaving you. Please tell me what's wrong."

"I'm a disappointment."

"What?"

"I missed 5 years of my life where I could've been with you. We could've had an actual house and been married by now. We could have our own little family, but now all of that is gone. Hell, I got pregnant by accident while having an affair, causing you to get a divorce. Then I lost the baby within a week of you and Lourdes getting divorced."

"Mik... Mik I love you. You did absolutely nothing wrong. You chose to get on that plane, and if you wouldn't've I could be dead right now. Those two little girls might not have been saved. Instead of having two family members with him Cal would just have Ben to help him through the callings." Jared moved back from the door when he saw the knob start to turn. The door opened slowly and Michaela looked up at Jared with, something that looked vaguely of, a smile on her face. She leaned against the doorway, trying to contain her tears, although a few left streaks on her face already.

"Hey..." her small smile widened a bit.

"Hi-" Jared was cut off by Michaela throwing her arms over his shoulders. "You feeling better?"

"Yeah... I'm going to apologize to Grace and Ben. Can you clean up dinner?" Michaela asked. Jared nodded and they went downstairs.

"Hey Mik," Ben started with a soft tone, "You ok?"

"I'm ok. I'm sorry I ran off. I don't want to talk about it."

"It's ok," Grace joined their conversation. Michaela walked over to her and gave her a hug.

"Congratulations. Really."

"Thanks Mik. It's probably a sensitive time to ask, but would you and Jared like to be the baby's godparents?"

Michaela's eyes started to fill with tears again. She had the biggest smile on her face.

"Mik, Mik are you ok?" Ben asked.

"Yeah I'm fine," Michaela's voice cracked a bit while happy tears fell down her face. "I'd be happy to be their godmother."

Grace smiled and grabbed Ben's hand. A single tear fell down Grace's cheek as she spoke, "Thank you... We should probably get going so you don't miss your appointment."

Michaela nodded and walked Grace and Ben out. "Thanks for coming over!" she waved to them and they waved back as they drove away.

Jared came out and kissed Michaela on the forehead and grabbed their jackets, handing Michaela her jacket before opening the door for her. They walked out and headed to Jared's car. They drove in a comfortable silence to the doctor's office, who took Michaela off of bedrest and asked Michaela a few questions about her current mental health. The doctor suggested seeing a therapist and/or a psychiatrist about Michaela's mental health, but otherwise let her off with a good recovery.

A few days later, that Saturday more specifically, was finally the day that Jared was going to take Michaela to her favorite beach. It was warmer out again so today was the perfect day for their little beach date.

"You ready?" Jared called up the stair. Without a response Michaela ran down the stairs and gave him a kiss.

"Yep. Let's go."

They got in the car and drove for a few hours singing along like idiots to whatever song was playing on the radio. They eventually drove up to the side of the beach.

"Wait- Jared I've been here hundreds of times. Why are we here actually?"

"Because I thought it would be nice to have a date on the beach."

"Jared... you aren't proposing... right?"

"No I'm not. Come on! Get out of the car and walk with me?"

"Fine," Michaela replied, stepping out of the car and walking with Jared to the beach, laying out two towels and setting down a basket with snacks. The two walked the length of the beach and went back to their spot, where Michaela decided to go swimming. She took off her shorts and tee-shirt, running into the cold water. Jared chased after her. The water was cold, but neither of them seemed to mind. They stood together, shoulders deep in water, and acted like they were kids again, splashing each other and going underwater to get away from the other. Eventually Jared caught Michaela and held her up before setting her back down, arms still wrapped around her, engulfing her in a kiss. Michaela deepened the kiss, but suddenly Jared pulled away and dunked her in the water. Michaela resurfaced to Jared chuckling.

"You're a jerk."

"You love me for it."

"I do."
