Jared dragged Michaela out of the water and grabbed her a towel to dry off with. He kissed her on the cheek and they walked, arm in arm, down the beach again. The sun was nearly set and Michaela started yawning every now and again.
"You want to go home?"
"No. It's so nice out her-" Michaela's words are taken over by yawns.
"We're going home."
"Jared! I want to stay out! We haven't been able to do something like this in so long."
"We can do something next week too. Maybe we should have a weekly date night?"
"Mhm," Michaela says as she sits down in the car, reluctantly. Her eyes drift closed to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore and her head touched the window.

Jared placed Michaela in bed after unhooking her bra, knowing Mik hates to wear them to bed, under literally any circumstance. He joined her after changing into his pajamas, or more specifically a loose tee-shirt and boxers, and as soon as he had laid down Michaela's head snuggled into the shoulder Jared had been partially laying on, completely expecting this from the woman laying in his arms. Jared wrapped his arm around Mik's waist loosely and fell asleep to the faint smell of sea salt in her hair.

Michaela woke up with an arm draped over her and her head partially on the pillow and partially on Jared's shoulder. She wasn't remotely surprised after having longer for his touch for what felt like years. She knew Jared must've missed her touch more because she was missing, presumed dead, for 5 years and finally returned when Jared has gotten married to one of Michaela's best friends. Michaela slowly turned around to kiss her boyfriend... no lover, partner is what she settled on as she felt like they were more than just dating but not yet engaged. God did she want to be engaged to Jared in that moment when she kissed his nose softly and he gently stirred to smile and her and just held onto her tighter. Michaela began to play with Jared's hair that was up against his forehead in possibly the most adorable way Michaela could think of. In that moment she felt truly happy for the first time since flight 828 had landed. She was cuddled up in the arms of the man she loves, playing with his hair as a relaxed look took over his features. She would've done anything to stay in that moment and never have to face anything ever again. Eventually the alarm clock went off and Jared rolled over to shut it off, then turned back to Michaela with the all knowing "We have to get up but I know we both want to lay here forever" look before kissing her and reluctantly getting out of bed. Michaela eventually did the same.
A/N: I'm being surprisingly active and trying to get some more chapters in because I feel inspired to write today! I hope you guys liked this short update to the story because I'm not 100% on how I want this to go from here. I'd suppose the next chapter is Mik's first day back and possibly confronting Zeke? I'm not sure but it'll be coming out when I'm more inspired to work on this I suppose. I'm currently more invested in the Sherlock fandom and have been starting a Johnlock fanfic so go check that out if you like Sherlock. I also have a Dramione fanfiction out (not complete) and if you ship them you could always check that out while you wait for new parts here! Thanks for getting this to #2 in Manifest! Maybe we should get it to #1? I'm kidding but really that would be amazing! Thanks for all the support. Don't forget to vote and comment ideas and suggestions/theories and such!
