Nevaeh
I was just waiting on tomorrow so I could escape from this place. I've decided that since I wasn't talking to Khalil it was only right I didn't talk to Nicole either. Since they are both held responsible.
"Get up." Kali said snatching the cover from over my head. I pressed pause and looked at her annoyed.
"What do you want?" I asked and she smiled at me.
"Come with me to go see Jalen." She said and I just looked her blankly.
"Why would I want to third wheel?" I said squinting my eyes at her.
"You won't be third wheeling. It's going to be other people there. I'm tired of you moping over that ain't shit nigga. You have 15 minutes to be dressed and ready to go." She said I groaned hearing the bathroom door shut.
It was the beginning of December, but Georgia weather has a mind of its on. I put on some ripped jeans, a cardigan, and some uggs. I continued to watch The Office until she finally decided to come out.
"Ooo great let's go." She smiled grabbing her purse and phone. I put my stuff in my pocket and followed behind her.
We started walking to a side of campus I've never been on before. There were buildings with Greek letters on them. I wasn't sure what half of them meant. She stopped at one and walked right in like she owned the place.
"Damn I thought we told yo girl to stop doing that." Some brown skin dude with a tattoo sleeve said.
"Shut up Devon. Y'all told me to stop, not my man and I clearly only listen to him." She said flicking him off. I stood there awkwardly because the only other person I knew besides Kali was Jalen.
"Oh shit. Wassup Nevaeh." Jalen said doing a double take. I don't get out and it shows.
"Hey Jalen." I laughed softly.
"Shit Dibs!" Two boys yelled at the same time.
"Rock, Paper, Scissors that shit." A boy with curly hair and a tattoo on his chest said.
"Felix and Gavin .. are y'all for real?" Kali asked sounding like someone's mother. As they started battling each other another boy slid next to me.
"Wassup beautiful. I'm Cj" The dude said. He had a full beard that made me believe that he was like 21 or 22.
"Nah nigga nah." The boy from earlier said once he looked over.
"Felix either this nigga got us fucked up or he got us fucked up." The Gavin person I'm assuming said.
"Real shit cause we can take this outside. You not bout to disrespect the rules of dibs." Felix said standing up pulling up his sweatpants.
"Where's the bathroom?" I whispered to Kali as they were arguing with each other.
"I only know the one upstairs. It's the third door or maybe the second door on the right. Just try both." She said waving me off giving her attention back to Jalen.
I managed to slide out the room undetected and make my way upstairs. I turned to my right and opened the second door. It was nothing but a closet. I walked to the third door and there sat another boy with curly hair and glasses reading a book with no shirt on.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry." I blushed covering my face from embarrassment.
"It's okay bella." He said and my eyes widen. Bilingual guys was an automatic turn on for me.
"Um..." I became speechless. I was just so dumbfounded and in shock.
"Were you looking for something?" He asked putting a bookmark in place then shutting his book.
"An escape." I laughed softly to myself as I still heard them yelling.
"You must be what the fuss is all about." He chuckled sitting on the edge of his bed. His toned body on full display. I noticed a long scar come from his right armpit across his chest stopping right before his heart.
"What happened?" I curiously asked.
"That's a story for another time mi amore." He said scratching his head. I quickly apologized for asking.
"Non-sense. What's your name?" He asked as I now stood leaned against the door frame.
"I'm Nevaeh. And you are?" I asked.
"I'm Israel but you may call me Izzy." He introduced biting his lower lip.
"Nice to meet you." I said and started playing with my hair.
"Likewise." He smiled at me.
"So whatcha reading?" I asked glancing at the book.
"Pillow thoughts. I was looking for inspiration for my poem but I think I just found it." He said and I nearly melted into a puddle.
"Oh really?" I blushed looking away from him.
"Yea. Come in, if you're not comfortable to sit on the bed you're more than welcome to sit on the chair." He said and I slowly walked over to his desk chair and pulled it closer to him. He grabbed a raggedy old red notebook that looked full of loose paper.
"Before I start, I don't know what you're going through, but you're enough and you have a beautiful smile." He said making me stare off into space as he began to write.
"Who hurt you?" He whispered snapping me back to reality making my glossy eyes dry up. I don't like to cry in front of people.
"That's a story for another time." I said using his line making him smile.
"Fair enough." He mumbled looking down at his notebook still smiling to himself.
"I found her." Kali called from the door and we both looked over at her. She crossed her arms and smirked.
"This french son of a bitch!" Someone yelled before it sounded like a stampede coming up the stairs. Next thing I knew everyone was in the room.
"We called dibs bro." That Gavin boy said.
"Y'all not bout to treat her like some food with this dibs shit. She clearly don't want nappy and nappier." Kali said making them groan.
"Shut up! Nigga damn!" Gavin said making Felix bust out laughing.
"Watch who you talkin to youngin." Jalen said slapping Gavin on the back of his head.
"Period!" Kali said hitting that Devon guy.
"I ain't even do shit!" He groaned rubbing his head.
"No, but that's for getting smart when I came in earlier." She said before they started going back and forth which caused Jalen to jump in and once again everyone was arguing.
"Do they always argue like this?" I asked leaning closer to Israel.
"All day." He rolled his eyes.
I continued to watch them with a smile on my face. It was quite comical to watch Kali beat 3 guys in an argument.
"Let me take you out tomorrow bella." Israel said grabbing my hand.
"Is that you asking?" I asked looking down as his thumb caressed my skin.
"I'm asking for permission yes." He smiled softly.
"I would, but I leave tomorrow night." I said.
"It doesn't have to be something too big. We can just go for a walk around campus." He shrugged.
"You do know it's Winter right?" I laughed softly.
"I'll keep you warm." He winked kissing the back of my hand.
