Nevaeh

"Kali come on. You told me to wake you up before I leave. You're gonna be late on the first day." I said softly shaking her.

"Nevaeh sweetheart, do me a favor and fuck off." She said making me freeze and stop touching her. Kali is a rude person, but she's extremely rude when you try to wake her up.

I let her be before I was late for my own class. I walked the familiar path to the arts building giving myself a gold star for actually remembering.

"Nevaeh hey girl" This girl I was cool with in high school popped up and started walking with me.

"Hey Nicole." I smiled at her. She was a bitch but was always nice to me. I think it was because we had a common ground of art.

"I am so upset we didn't get to be roomies like we planned." She pouted looping our arms.

"You requested a single room Nikki." I laughed at her.

"Oh right." She laughed at me as we walked into Art history.

"There aren't any seats next to each so I guess I'll see you after class." I said before she stuck her arm out stopping me.

"Foolish." She gave me a small smile before turning to some boy who sat in between two empty seats.

"Scoot down now." she said and he just looked at her.

"I guess I wasn't clear enough. Move the fuck down before I-"

"Excuse me, do you mind scooting down one seat for me please?" I asked politely and he gave me a smile before moving.

"Nicole that was uncalled for." I said and she shrugged glaring at the boy next to me.

"You haven't changed a bit." I giggled softly as she laid her head on my shoulder.

"All I'm saying is that you can't be ugly and stupid. Choose a struggle bitch." Nicole ranted as we walked out of Art History. A girl who wasn't the best to look at didn't know the difference between a flat brush and a bright brush. Which to me I understood because they actually look alike, but Nicole isn't letting it go.

"Nikki let it go. It was the first day of class." I groaned.

"She need to be back in Art 101 then." She rolled her eyes as we continued to walk to another building.

"I can't with you." I shook my head taking out my phone.

I looked around until I spotted him across the grass already making his way over to me.

"Fine hottie alert coming right towards us." Nicole said stopping in her tracks fluffing her ponytail and boobs.

"Hey." Khalil smiled tucking some hair behind my ear. A habit he does a lot.

"Hi." I blushed looking away.

"How was-"

"ahem." Nicole cleared her throat.

"Oh I'm sorry. Khalil this is my friend Nicole. Nikki meet Khalil. I introduced the two.

"A pleasure to meet you." Nicole smiled at him sticking her hand out.

"likewise." He said shaking it real quick before turning his attention back to me.

"How was your first class?" He asked grabbing my hand as we proceeded to walk.

"It was so good, I already know we're gonna help each pass this semester." Nicole answered before I had the chance. I just smiled softly and nodded.

"That's nice and all, but I was talking to Nevaeh" Khalil said with a hint of attitude.

"Khalil..." I warned quietly.

"I mean I just think it's rude how it's two people standing here and you only ask about one person." Nicole said looking up at him through eyelashes.

"Well I don't know you and I really only came here for her so-"

"All I'm saying-"

"Nevaeh call me when you don't have company and we'll go get some food ok?" Khalil cut her off letting go of my hand.

"Ok" I pouted as he pulled me into hug and kissed my forehead. Without even speaking to Nicole he turned and walked the other direction.

"So are you two like a thing?" Nicole asked as we proceeded to walk.

"No not yet."

"Oh? That's good." She nodded with a sly smirk.

"Trevon skip me one more time and I swear you gotta run my fade." Angel threatened as we were playing Uno.

Jayda thought it'd be a good idea if we all got together to have a little game night. It was Trevon, Khalil, Jayda, Angel, Dontae, and surprisingly Kali showed up.

"Uno bitch." Kali said slapping the card down.

"I think the fuck not. Hand the card over shorty." Dontae said putting down a trade card. We all busted out laughing as Kali mugged him.

"Don't change the color to blue." She shrugged and Dontae looked at her sideways.

"Oh so you dumb dumb. I should throw yo ass-"

"Why are y'all so aggressive? My oh my! I've never played an Uno game this foul." Jayda said watching our interactions in horror. I bit my lip to prevent from laughing.

"You so cute babe." Trevon laughed shaking his head.

"Babe?" Kali, Angel, and I all said in Unison. Jayda's blushing confirmed the unspoken. I'm surprised she didn't tell us. I wonder how long they've been official.

"Draw 2." Khalil put down, but Jayda added her own red draw 2. Trevon said miss him with that and put his own down as well. We all watched Angel afraid she might blow up.

"tuh." She mumbled throwing down a yellow draw two.

"Y'all some hoes." Dontae muttered picking up 8 cards.

We played a few more rounds before calling it a night and decided to start cleaning up.

"Nev can I talk to you real quick?" Khalil asked gently grabbing my elbow. I put the cups in the trash real quick before turning to him.

"Yes?" I asked looking up at him.

"I don't trust that Nicole girl." He said getting right to the point. I'm not surprised by that since Nicole can rub off the wrong shoulder.

"She's just rude to people she doesn't know. We go way back in high school. She was always nice to me." I defended her unknowingly.

"I get that but she seems very manipulative and I just want you to be careful around her okay?" He asked playing with a strand of my hair.

"Okay Khalil. I'll be sure to always be on high alert with her." I said and he smiled pulling me into a bone crushing hug.

"Come on. Let's get you to bed Mulan." He said throwing me over his shoulder.

"I don't know if I should take offense to that or not" I giggled.
