Mira was the fifth child of the village head and his only daughter. Her childhood and teenage years were full of love and pampering. Her brothers protected her like she was the princess so pure that a rough hand would wound her. Her father was the force nobody wanted to fight with. He was a powerful man but powerless in front of his child.

Her mother did not like this at all. She loved her child too but, she believed they were feeding her with unrealistic ideas like women can work outside home. They were making her think way beyond the society would permit. She feared that too much love would keep her away from practical realities and that she might turn into a stubborn person. All the men in the family submitted to her every whim. Her wish was their command. Her mother feared a time would come were she would not listen to them at all and misuse the love.

Mira was not a spoiled brat. She knew she can get anything she wished for and was a happy kid. Attention wasn't new to her, especially male attention. She was beautiful and wherever she went, eyes followed. She loved that. Being the only girl to join school after 10 in the village, she also had undivided attention of all boys. They gave her flowers plucked fresh in the morning and slipped notes towards her all class but she had eyes only for one.

He was only a milkman's son, quite and composed. He was shy and Mira, who had everything, wished someday he would just look at her and what has Mira ever wished that did not come true. One fateful spring, just after the class 11 exams, He slipped her a note, asking her to meet near the pond behind the school.

Mira was beyond happy, but nervous too. 'what will he say?' 'Is it just to say bye before the break?' 'Oh God!, has he noticed me looking at him in class? He thinks I am creepy and wants me to stop!', All kind of thoughts swarmed her brain. When the bell signalling day end finally rang, she sprung out of her seat and ran towards the pond. She needed it all sorted before she burst a vein overthinking everything.

'I love you'

He simply said. He plucked a tiny white flower from the ground and put her in hair and smiled at her.

Mira was stunned. For years she had admired him and for him to return those feelings was everything. Suddenly it felt like he was the sun and she was just a planet around him. She promised herself that now that she has his love, she would cherish it forever. She smiled back and touched his hand in her hair.

Her life had only seen spring, beautiful, yet she felt like flowers had bloomed for the first time today. Teenage love! They don't care for anything at all. She, the planet, would burn for her sun but aren't there other planets around too.
