Thats how it goes

Joe's POV-
"Alright everyone sit down in your seats" the teacher said walking through the crowd of people. I sat down at my seat.
"Alright new girl" I said waiting for a hello back.
No reply.
"Hi I'm joe what's your name?"
No reply.
"You Alright?"
No reply.
"I'm sorry if anyone made u upset I'm sure they didn't mean" before I could finish the girl turned to me with tears down her face
"Yh of course they didn't mean anything, it's just fine you know being rude to someone when it's the first day" she said with sad and anger in her tone.
"I'm sorry, i mean it"
No reply.

"Alright class registration please."
"Alex"
"Yes miss"
"Dianne"
"Yep"
I nudged dianne and said "say yes miss"
No reply.
"Dianne buswell ?"
"Yes I'm here!" She shouted
"Dianne Claire buswell outside now!" The teacher shouted stomping outside.
The whole class laughed and I just sat there but then my mates saw that I wasn't laughing so I just went along with it.
Dianne's POV- the teacher shouted at me telling me to go outside so I did, I was very confused why she couldn't hear me.
"Right why on earth do you think you have a right to shout at a teacher like that!?"
I didn't reply I just stood with my head to the floor.
"Well don't just stand there reply or ur going to the reception desk at once"
I still didn't reply, I mean my mum is at the reception desk so it will be fine.
"Go now ! Down the hall to the left, give her this note and she will deal with you... unbelievable." She shouted before walking back into the class.
When I got to the reception desk my mum was there looking very confused.
"Di why aren't you in tutor?" I didn't reply I just gave her the note which read:

Detention note at c67 for miss dianne Claire buswell after school at 4-5.
Reason- talking back, shouting and disrespect towards member of staff.

"Dianne that is awful, how could you do that!? Especially on your first day!"
"Mum I'm sorry I just was answering the register"
"And how exactly did u answer"
"I answered with yep and then she said my full name sounding like she couldn't hear me so I raised my voice and said yes I'm here"
"Oh Di u have to answer with yes miss not yep!"
"Well how would I know that!?"
"I'll get her down here for you"

"Miss robin to reception please"
Mum said from the loud speaker.
After a few minutes the teacher arrived.
"Hi Miss did u give Dianne a detention for talking back?"
"Yes I did"
"It's her first day ever going to school in her whole life so she doesn't actually know how to answer the register and she raised her voice because she thought u couldn't hear her"
"Tough for her then, she will still be having that detention after school, every student needs to learn from there mistakes, that's just how it goes"
I walked off with the teacher and went to period 1, history.
