The Lifeguard - Tyrus

Chapter two

3rd person POV

It was finally the last day of school and there was non-stop chatter among the students. Buffy has told Cyrus and Andi that she went to check out the ice cream shop and met the guy Cyrus has mentioned.

"His name is Marty, he is in fact transgender and straight so that's good news for me! I also got his number but I haven't texted him yet" Buffy told her friends.

Andi moves a hair that was in her face, "ooh, does Buffy have a crush?!" She went in a sing-song way.

Buffy's cheeks went red,

"Maybe..."

Cyrus and Andi teased their friend a bit more and headed off to class.

The end of the school day was coming to an end which meant it was almost summer vacation.

There was only one more class to go through and then it will be over.

Cyrus was in study hall with Jonah, which was outside since the weather was so nice. Jonah was throwing a frisbee to Cyrus when he asked,

"Hey, for the first day of summer vacation, wanna come over? I'm inviting Andi, Buffy and Natalie!"

Cyrus thought about it for a few seconds and responded with a 'yes'.

When the school day has ended, there was music playing on the intercoms,
"What time is it? Summer time!
It's our vacation
What time is it?
Party time
That's right
Say it loud"

Teachers were wishing their students a nice summer and to do their summer reading, which nobody did in the first place but they had to try.

Andi's mother, Bex, had come to pick up Andi and Buffy while Jonah got on his bus and Cyrus walked home with Natalie since they lived so close to the school.

"So... what's going on with Iris? Please tell me you have a way to stay in contact with her over the summer!" Cyrus asked his friend. "Don't worry Cy, I got her InstaPic account so I can just slide right into her DMs whenever I want!"

The two reached the neighborhood they shared and promised to meet up before Jonah's 'End-Of-School-Year-party".

Cyrus walked into his house and was greeted by his mother asking how his last day was.

"It was good, Jonah is having an 'end-of-school-year-party at his house and I already told him I could go... sorry" Cyrus told his mother but she said it was okay.

*time jump*

When Cyrus was changed out of his school clothes, he went outside to meet up with Natalie who was wearing a light purple dress with flowers on it. Cyrus was wearing a light blue collared T-shirt with dark blue palm trees on it with khaki shorts.

"Looking snazzy Ms. Bradshaw!" Cyrus greeted his friend.

"You too Mr. Goodman!" Natalie greeted back.

They waited at the cul-de-sac for Bex to pick them up. When Bex pulled up in her mini-van, Cyrus and Natalie jumped into the backseat where Buffy was sitting while Andi sat in the passenger seat changing the CD. The first thing Cyrus notices is Buffy's hair,

"Your hair... it has blue streaks!" And Buffy smiles, "too bad it's temporary, I would love for it to stay like this but my mom would freak!"

They had pulled up to Jonah's house and Bex told them to try their best to have fun without drinking alcohol. Andi got out of the car and laughed, "oh I wonder how in the world we will do that?"

Andi shut the door, "love you, mom!"

"Love you too!"

The group walked to Jonah's front door and gave the bell a ring. When Jonah answered, he was wearing a slightly unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt and green shorts.

"Hey! Come on in, everyone wearing the summer theme! I love it!"

Buffy was wearing a dark blue romper with little designs on it and Andi was wearing a yellow dress with pink and orange.

When they walked through the door, music was blaring, a few rainbow lights and Netflix was open on the TV. Andi gasped, "you really outdid yourself, Jonah!" Which caused Jonah to blush. Buffy fake gagged, "you two have to stop flirting and get back together already!". Jonah and Andi shook their heads 'no'

It had been a few hours since the party started so the teens decided it would be a good idea to take a break from the dancing and watch some Netflix.
A couple more hours had passed when Cyrus' phone made a 'ding'. Cyrus looked at his phone, blinded by the brightness, he noticed it was past midnight.

"Guys... it's past midnight! Andi, I suggest you call Bex to pick us up", Cyrus said to a half-asleep Andi who spoke groggily, "what?" She rubbed her eyes. Cyrus, who was now standing up, showed his brightly lit phone to Andi. She shielded her eyes, "oh my god!" She shouted which managed to get everyone out of their daze and start getting up.

Andi has texted Bex to pick them up. Bex showed up about 10 minutes later. As the group of four left Jonah's and thanked him for the fun party, they got into Bex's car and did their best to stay awake.

When Cyrus got home, he dreadfully hopes for his mother to be sleeping but when he walked through the door, there his mother stood. Arms crossed her chest. Cyrus shut the front door and gulped

"Oh no..."
