“Crowen?” Abyss called out as she sprang to the hallway.
“I’m fine Abyss I just dropped my shirt!” he yelled.
“That was very loud to just be a shirt,” she yelled back as she walked to the couch.
“Well I was in it!” he said as he walked out of his room.
“Your not wearing blue?” Abyss asked as she saw Crowen in a light brown striped t-shirt and tan shorts.
“Well I just didn’t want to,” he said walking to the fridge.
“None of them are clean are they?”
“Well… I couldn’t find them.”
“Wash your clothes I’m not your nanny,” Abyss sat on the back of the couch and flopped backward with her feet in the air.
“I know your not,” Crowen looked at the many food items, he then pulled out a full gallon of orange juice, “When did we get the food?”
“Umm… last night I guess, someone from the school dropped it off to us,” Abyss said and moved her feet back and forth in the air.
“Hmm do you think it as Astraea?” Crowen asked.
“No I met them at the door he had a red poncho thingy on. They gave me the food and said it was from the school.” Abyss stated and stretched her hands above her head.
“Well you should learn how to cook,” Crowen said as he poured a glass of juice. Abyss slid off the couch and stood up.
“From who! And why can’t you!” she protested
“I’m your owner remember? And I’m sure Astraea would have fun teaching you instead of me.” Crowen stated blandly.
Abyss’s ears pulled back and she opened her mouth to argue. When a knock sounded Abyss’s ears went forward, Crowen put his drink down and went to the door. He opened it and looked around and saw no one there. Crowen looked down to see a box he picked it up and looked at it. There was no name on it, other then the tape on it nothing stood out.
“What cha got there?” Abyss asked as she tried to snatch the box away from him, but Crowen was faster and moved the box just out of her reach. Abyss then fell on the ground, “Hey!”
Crowen looked at the demon that lay on the floor, he sighed, and sat back at the island. Crowen looked at the box carefully he then leaned over the counter and opened a drawer and took out a knife. Crowen used the knife to cut open the tape, puting the knife down, he opened the box. In it was the parts to a gun.
“Hey Abyss,” Crowen started and looked to where the demon should have been laying, but instead she was right next to him, “Holy-”
Abyss shushed him, “watch your language young man,” she said as she grabbed for the box. This time Crowen let her take it.
“What do you make of it?” Crowen asked. Abyss took the pieces out one by one as she did so she put it together. Soon it made a pistole and the last thing she had to put in was the cartridge of bullets. When she grabbed it a burning pain ran up her hand and she dropped it.
“Holy mother of the underworld that hurt,” she shouted as her skin still hissed and smoke rose from her hand, “It must have been blessed or something.”
Crowen nodded and grabbed the demon's hand to see that the burn was healing. Abyss took her hand away swiftly. Crowen sighed and grabbed the gun and its magazine. He then put them together, nothing happened so he put the gun back in the box.
“You should keep that on you,” Abyss blandly stated, “We’ll even get you a holster, but you will not use those bullets.”
“But what about school?” Crowen said and looked back at the gun, “I’ll get trouble if I bring a gun to school.”
“No you wont I almost died last night, and it wasn’t just a draw of the cards either. Someone wanted me dead, and seeing as I’m your familiar, they’ll want you dead to,” she crossed her arms.
Crowen sighed and picked up the gun and looked at it. He studied the object looking at all the grooves and different buttons. He then got up and walked to his room leaving abyss alone in the main part of the house. She then walked to the counter and picked up Crowen’s cup. She took notice that it still had some juice in it. Abyss rolled her gray eyes and dumped it down the drain, leaving the cup in the sink. Abyss walked to Crowen’s door and knocked on it.
“I just want you to know I’m going to get your a holster, want to come with?” Abyss asked she didn’t get a reply, “Crowen?”
She pushed open the door to find him asleep on his bed. The gun sat nowhere in sight. Abyss thought it was strange that he was asleep so early in the day, but didn’t want to wake him up or even leave without him. So she went through his room to find the boys computer and she did so she grabbed it. Abyss walked out into the kitchen, opening it she looked at different types of ‘how to’ videos.
