Crowen groaned, but didn’t press the question. He started to flip through the channels on the TV, he really didn’t find much to watch other than kids shows and boring news stories. Crowen stopped flipping shows when a breaking news cast coat his eye.

“Breaking news last night a research lab was broken into. Luckily, no one was found dead or injured. Although, many of the labs test subjects were freed and are now running around in the main city including many criminals. Please be on the lookout for anyone that looks like they had escaped the building. If you do, contact your local authorities.” The female news anchor said, “In other news, 1000 years ago today, a massacre had taken place. It had happened at a building here in our city. Little is known as to what was done in the building, but witnesses from this event say, that a man much like a demon killed many people and left with a child.”

A picture of a child with black hair and pale gray eyes shows up on the screen, the photo was very old looking. Crowen looked at the picture and thought for a bit, that it looked much like Abyss, but a child. He didn’t understand what was going on or why a child like Abyss was on the TV. He thought it must be a mistake, but even if it was wrong. Abyss is a demon and she could be 1000 years old. That could have been her and the dream he had would make sense!

“Crowen, shut the TV off and go do your homework!” Abyss yelled at Crowen. He groaned and shut the TV off. Then walked to his room and did his homework. It was nothing that he didn’t know. Abyss had taught him quite a lot in the time before he went to the school.

(hours later)

It was dark out now as Crowen walked out of his room to see Abyss sitting on the couch reading a book. He looked at the kitchen not seeing the science things.

“Where did the science things go?” Crowen asked.

“I put them away, and your friend is going to be here soon.” Abyss responded, she put her book down and stood up. “I’m going to go get some fast food or do you want to come with and if you do then we need to wait for your friend to get here.”

Abyss waked to the door out and put her shoes on

“I’ll stay here, and what are you getting?” Crowen questioned and sat down on the couch.

“Chinese.” she responded and walked out of the door before Crowen could protest.

(3rd P.O.V. Abyss)

Abyss walked out of the house before Crowen could protest and walked into town. As she walked she thought about who was on the phone and if she should have left Crowen there alone to meet them. She then shrugged it off ‘he can fend for himself’ she thought and continued walking. As she walked a small convenience store caught the attention of the shadow demon. So being the curiosity cat that she was she walked into the store nothing was out of the ordinare in the store at least to one's sight. Something was off and Abyss seemed to take notice, but didn’t want to draw attention to herself so she walked around the store looking at some of the things there. Abyss walked to the frozen foods there to see if there was any chinese food. A bell sounded as Abyss looked at the frozen foods she jumped and looked at the person that walked into the store. She studied the male for a few seconds as she did a murderous intent seemed to fill the room. The feeling in the room set Abyss off for a bit. She shook her head to keep calm, in that moment the man that had walked into the store was next to the the black, neko demon. Her tail curled itself around Abyss’s leg as a feeling of uneasiness swept over her, but she pushed it down and looked back to the frozen food. Soon a clicking sound was heard as the barrel of a gun was pointed at her head.

“Put your hands in the air and get on the ground,” The raspy voiced male said. Abyss did nothing, “do as I say or I’ll shoot your brains out!”

Abyss took a deep breath and put her hands up and got on the ground. Then the man turned around and pointed the gun at the shop owner, they put there hands up.

“Pl-Please don-don’t sh-shoot,” the shop owner said, “I ha-have a fa-family man.”

Abyss took note of all the different ways she could out of this, but most of the involved the store keeper to get shot or herself. The murderous intent in the room told her that the man with the gun would kill if he needed too. This was bad. She was not as fast as a bullet and seeing as she is not in full demon mode, the right shot would kill her. Abyss thought her shadows could help them, but if her timing was off the man would shoot and most likely kill the shopkeeper. Even so Abyss had to try, regardless she needed to get back to Crowen. Abyss moved her hand to cast the shadows to cover her, but nothing happened. ‘What the…’ Abyss thought as she tried again. Only to receive the same results and come to think of it she can’t sense Crowen anymore. ‘How can he do that… unless he was one of the escaped subjects’ she thought. Things did not seem to be going her way tonight. Abyss watched as the gunman walked to the counter.

“Give me the money,” he barked at the store owner. The store owner did as the man said and pulled out the money shakaly.

“There I-I gave yo-you the money,” the shop owner stutterd. Abyss felt bad for the man that was most likely to die. She hoped he wouldn’t. The shop owner was the only other person in the store. Meaning, if he dies, he’s going to shoot her as well. Abyss was in deep thought when a loud gunshot when off. The sudden sound made Abyss jump as she looked to the counter. The gunman was laying on the ground, blood pooling around him. The demon jumped up from the floor and walked by the now dying man. She then knelt down and looked at the mans face. He was smiling. ‘Oh no’ Abyss jumped back and tried to run out of the store. Just before she could make it to the doors a bomb went off, sending her flying into the glass door and out in onto the cold ground of the sidewalk…

I didn't feel like making a part three so this one is just longer.
