legacy
it's been a rough few days since the incident and i've been stuck in my house. my dad had taken a few days off of work to help me and make sure i was okay, which i was very grateful for, but sometimes he was getting on my nerves.
"dad" i whined as he brought me lunch even though i wasn't hungry, "i told you i wasn't hungry. i had a protein bar this morning"
"legacy, you need to eat" he urged me.
"no, what you need is to go to work" i told me as i pushed the food away. i was being a bit mean but i was getting agitated.
"i need to look after you. you are more important than work, hun" he helped me sit up before sitting on the edge of the bed, "here let me get you a new ice pack" i sighed as he got back up and rushed out into the kitchen.
i knew he was just being nice and helpful but i also knew that he was missing work. he only left once these past few days and it was to get my medicine. deano and harries came over to drop off groceries for us so my dad could stay with me.
"dad, please go to work. you are getting stir crazy from staying inside" i told him once we returned to my room.
he tossed me the ice pack before crossing his arms, "i am not, legacy. i need to stay with you as you heal. something could happen when i'm not here and you could get more hurt"
an idea popped into my head but i wasn't sure he was going to allow it, "you could ask some of the boys to look after me. like... maxi, deano... jesse" i trailed off hoping he would say yes.
he thought to himself before speaking, "that's not a bad idea but it's not going to be jesse. i'm not allowing you two to be here alone"
i rolled my eyes, "nothings going to happen, dad. i can barely move! what if you asked maxi and jesse. it's not like we would do something while maxi were here"
"two boys? you're crazy" he laughed while rolling his eyes, "i'll think about it. now ice your back and eat your lunch" he said before leaving me alone. i sighed before placing the sandwich on my lap and the ice pack on my back.

"have you thought about it?" i asked my dad as i limped across the hall and into the living room.
i wasn't allowed to walk a lot but the doctors told me a few steps a day wouldn't hurt. it was better to do small walks to regain strength. i would just walk around my house when i had the energy too.
"thought about what?" my dad asked as he filled out some paper work.
"about the boys taking care of me" i replied as i got myself a glass of water.
he sighed, "well i should be getting back to work... i guess it would be okay to have some of them watch you. but i'm warning you legacy, you and jesse better not do anything while i'm not here" he stared at me dead in the eyes, "you understand?"
i nodded my head, "yes, dad. nothing bad is going to happen, i promise"
"good. i'll call them up right now and i can head in tomorrow" he said as he picked up the phone. i smiled to myself whiling holding myself back from doing a little dance.
i shuffled my way back to my room and decided to take a shower. i was in desperate need of one because i hadn't had one since i returned from the hospital. i picked out some grey shorts, undergarments and a white baggy t shirt before heading towards the bathroom.
after a nice long shower i rejoined my dad who had been making some dinner.
"so, how'd the call go?" i asked me as i sat down at the table.
"maxi, jesse, whippet, harries and deano are coming over in a bit. they wanted to see you and i wanted to talk to jesse about taking care of you" he explained.
"yay... i kind of miss them" i told him honestly.
"yeah, they've missed you too" he replied back. i decided to help with with dinner while we waited for the boys to come over. as soon as we finished we head a knock on the door.
"i'll get it" my dad said as he rushed to answer it. there stood the five blokes with smiles on their faces.
"legacy!" whippet exclaimed as soon as he saw me. they all rushed in and swarmed me with hugs.
"hey guys" i greeted them in the hugs. they let go and i was able to breath again, "believe it or not, i actually missed you guys"
they awed, "we missed you too" said maxi. we all sat down at the table and the boys had placed their food that they brought on the counter. it was sort of like a buffet kind of thing so it was easier.
"hey, i'll get you your food" jesse said as rested his arms on the back of my chair, "what would you like?" i told him what i wanted and he quickly got up to grab it. once everyone filled up their plates they sat back down.
"so, how's it been?" whippet asked me as we started to dig in.
"boring and more boring. i hate being stuck in bed all day. all i want to do is go to the beach or surfing or something! i'm going crazy being inside all of the time" i told them the truth. it really was getting on my nerves sitting inside all day but i knew not to push myself too hard.
"must be" whippet said, "i wish you could come back to work... it's not the same without you" the boys nodded in agreement and all said how much they missed me.
"how long until you're back?" deano asked.
i sighed, "two to three weeks but i'm only aloud to be in the tower for the first week. i'll be going to physical therapy in the upcoming weeks to regain my strength. only until my concussion is cleared though"
"if you have a concussion then aren't these lights bothering you? and us talking so much?" deano wondered.
"it's just a small concussion so it doesn't hurt as much. the first few days i returned home i was stuck in the dark all day and it was really awful" they all chuckled with me and we continued to eat our dinner.
eight pm turned up and everyone was starting to head home. my hoppo had a chat with the boys about who could watch me while he was at work and it started tomorrow with maxi and jesse.
"can't wait for tomorrow" jesse said as he wrapped his arm around my waist. it was just us alone in the house as everyone else was on the balcony.
i smiled, "don't get any ideas, jesse. maxi is going to be here as well and i promised my dad nothing would happen"
he chuckled, "i know, i know... i'm just excited because i get to hang with you. even if maxi is here we can all find something fun to do" he was about to lean in for a kiss but the screen door slid open. i pushed him away just in time as the boys walked in.
"well it's getting pretty late" deano said as the boys starting grabbing their belongings.
"dinner was tasty and i'm glad we got to see you, legacy" whippet said as he pulled me into a hug. one by one they all hugged me before leaving.
"remember what i said, legacy" my dad turned to me with a stern look on his face. i nodded my head before heading into my room for the night.
