after i finished my eyeliner, i double checked the list and continued down the hall.

my legs trembled as i stood in the elevator.

keep it together ki nari. be stronger than what you think. don't let them underestimate you. no matter what you're walking into, you can do it.

i stared at my reflection standing in front of me.

during the past month my life has changed so much. more than i could ever imagine.

the doors opened and i stepped out. taking my time walking down the hallway.

above the door i had to enter had a clock which read 10:23.

the note said no later than 10:30 so i just sped up so i wasn't late for any reason.

i clutched the doorknob, turning it slightly. the lock clicked and the door opened.

the room remained dark with no lights. i stepped forward, feeling for the chair that was mentioned. i reached it and sat down, placing my hands on a thickly polished wooden table.

am i just supposed to sit here? what the hell?

"i see you've followed instructions clearly." a voice said from somewhere to the side of me.

a figure stepped in the doorway, shutting the door with a click.

"yes." i said, holding my hands together in my lap.

"did you miss me? it's hendery dear." he came close to me, speaking in my ear.

"hell no."

"i'm getting you back for what you did in the elevator."

"and how? you can't hit a girl!"

"i'm not hitting a girl, i'd be hitting a bitch."

i sat back, pouting because i didn't think it would be safe to say anymore.

"it's almost half past. orders will be coming soon." the other guy said, leaving us in the room alone.

my heart pace sped up and my breathing became unsteady.

"where have you been nari? where'd you run away to?"

"i don't remember."

"sure you do."

"no. i actually don't."

"what do you mean?"

"i literally cannot remember. i got hurt somehow lately that i can't remember anything from about two weeks ago. sadly.. i still remember you."

"aww~"

"i would hit you so bad right now if i could."

"why not?"
