"Sherrrrrly?"
"Yes Jim?"
"I'm hungry."
"Well, there's food in the fridge."
"I'm not starving enough to eat anything in that fridge, god knows who's heads touched it. Bleh!"
"Okay, what do you wanna eat then?"
"I was thinking fish and chips."
"Jim it's raining."
"That's why you have a coat! Come on!"Sherlock and Jim ran down the street, soaking their trouser legs as the puddles splashed them. It was pouring with rain, the sky's were dark and the roads wet. And not a single cab in sight.
Jim stumbled slightly, almost slipping on the slick pavement had Sherlock not caught him. The smaller man looked up at his partner and giggled. Sherlock couldn't help but smile looking at Jim, his short raven hair soaked by the rain and falling over his face, his rosy red cheeks and little button nose.
He helped Jim back to his feet and then they continued to run in the direction of the chip shop.
They finally arrived at the Chippy, a small run down shop with a glowing sign outside. They pushed open the door and dragged their wet feet onto the already dirty tile floor. The two men placed their orders and took a seat.
Jim slowly moved his hand to sit over Sherlock's, who took it into his own. Only then did he realise how cold Jim's hands were.
Jim sneezed a few times, causing Sherlock's head to go into deduction mode. He looked at his partner, face emotionless and stern. Jim rose an eyebrow. "What?" He asked.
"Your cheeks and nose are red, obviously since it's raining and your body temperature has gone down. Your hands are also very cold and since you have naturally warm hands, I'd guess these are the early signs of a cold." Sherlock finished. Jim looked around the room and chuckled.
"What were you expecting to happen? It's raining and not entirely very warm." Jim laughed. Sherlock looked at his lap then back at Jim. Slowly he slipped off his own coat and placed it over Jim's shoulders.
"I'd rather you didn't get ill." He grinned. Jim looked at the coat then back at his partners, putting a hand to his cheek. His face softened.
"Sherlock you face is freezing." Sherlock shrugged and shook his head. "It's fine, it's always like that. Just focus on staying warm." He took Jim's hands and rubbed them in his own to heat them up.
Their orders were called, so Sherlock got up and payed the employee, taking their food. They sat in the waiting space eating until they finished. Then it was time to go home.
They stood at the door, looking at the rain outside. It'd possibly gotten even harder since they came inside. Jim took Sherlock's coat off himself and handed it back to the taller man, who shook his head. "No no, you keep it." He gestured.
Jim grunted. "As much as I'd like to see you get wet in that purple shirt, you'll be freezing." He pushed the coat again towards Sherlock. "How about.." Sherlock took the coat and flung it over both their heads, making a sort of makeshift umbrella. Jim was about to disagree, before Sherlock dragged him out and they were already running home.
They finally got back to 221 Bakerstreet, practically kicking open the door and rushing in. Mrs Hudson appeared, horrified to see the two men. "Dear me boys! You're soaking!" She took Sherlock's now soaking heavy coat and hung it over the banister to dry, gesturing for Jim to take off his coat so she could do the same.
He did so, taking it off and handing it to the old lady. She whisked them upstairs to take a hot bath. The two men chuckled walking upstairs.
Jim took a towl out of the bathroom and dried off his hair, passing it to Sherlock who did the same. His mass of curly hair, dripping slightly made Jim's stomach flutter, which in terms made his burp with how full he was.
Sherlock sneezed a few times, making Jim giggle. "Someone's got a cold!" He teased. Sherlock scoffed. Jim took a blanket and hung it over Sherlock's bony shoulders, sitting down in front of him and beginning to unbutton his wet shirt. Once he'd finished he pulled it off, having to avert his eyes so he wouldn't stair at Sherlock's bare chest. But oh how he wanted to.
"Now you go have a nice hot bath and warm up, then we can watch some shit TV or something." He kissed Sherlock's cheek and hurried him off into the bathroom. Sherlock turned and removed the blanket from himself, starting to undo Jim's shirt. Jim let him, glancing down with his eyebrows raised.
Sherlock finished and threw the wet shirt aside, wrapping the blanket around his partner and kissing his softly, his cold lips quivering as he pulled away. "Go have a bath, you." Jim chuckled and pulled away, Sherlock smiling and shutting the bathroom door.
Jim had to hide his intense blush behind the blanket Sherlock gave him, wrapping his face in the material.
When Sherlock finally emerged from the bathroom, he wore nothing but PJ trousers. Jim felt his face go flush as he saw his partner. Sherlock slid onto the sofa behind Jim, wrapping his arms around his waste.
Sherlock squeezed his partner, chuckling as his belly churned with what he could only hope was butterflies. "Butterflies?" He asked, making Jim tut.
"No! I'm just- hungry!" He scoffed. Sherlock laughed and ran circles on Jim's stomach. "Oh please, you'll explode if you eat any more." Jim playfully smacked Sherlock, who gently kissed his neck.
They spent the rest of the evening cuddling, warming each other with love.
As I said, I wrote this coz I have nothing better to do. And I love me some Sheriarty!
