All afternoon, since leaving Sang, I have been thinking about her. Why would she run from someone who lives with her? I bet it was her sister who went in her closet. Maybe she was afraid she would take her clothes that she had on. Not even the smells from Uncle's Diner could cheer me up. I really wished I could talk to humans. Something is not right at her house. I can feel it. Uncle closed the truck door behind me and drew me out of my thoughts. I hopped out as he raised my crate out of his truck bed. He kicked the door closed and walked up the front porch of his house as I trotted beside him. Once he opened the door, I ran around his home sniffing and making sure there were no threats or intruders. Finding none, I went to my bed he set up and watched him fold the laundry left in the basket on the couch. As he folded the last T shirt for North, he told me to stay in the house as he went to take this to North's trailer. As he walked out the room, one of North's shirts and Silas's hat fell off the side. Uncle doesn't seem to notice as he continued to walk on. Quickly I took the shirt and the hat in my mouth and rushed to put it in the back of my crate, so Uncle wouldn't see. I can't help but wonder what little Sang has and all the stuff the guys have. Heck, Gabriel is always buying them clothes. It will be nice to give her something to wear. Besides, aren't they the ones that say they want to help people. They are helping and not knowing. If they find their things missing, I can always laugh to myself as they search for them before Gabe uses it as a reason to go shopping.

Today is oddly chilly as I trot to our spot. I hope Sang likes what I brought her. Derrick told me the guys would be back tomorrow afternoon, as they are coming back early since they did so well. I am excited to see them because I missed them, but I still want my time with Sang. I am still thinking about how I am going to see her when I get to our spot. I see her sitting on the ground leaning against our stump facing away from me. She looks so small and lonely. I just want to make her feel better. I slowly walk up to her, and she looked up with her green eyes looking so sad, and place the items in her lap. She wrapped her arms around my neck and just held me. I am not sure why she is crying, but it hurts my heart. I licked some of her tears away to comfort her and try to climb into her lap. She started to giggle and smiled as I try to lick more of her tears away. She rubbed my head and says "Hi Max. How are you, big guy? I continue to lick the last of her tears as she giggled. I really like that sound.

"Move Max. I didn't see what you put in my lap?"

I get off her lap and slowly backed up to make sure she has room. She lifted the black shirt and the hat fell out. She bent over and picked up the blue 7 time Boston Red Sox hat and I internally cringe. It's the one that has the years they won. I didn't notice it was Silas's favorite hat.

"A baseball hat! And It's big enough for me to get all my hair under it." She exclaimed as she shoved all her hair in the cap and pulled it down. Once she got it all in, Sang picked up North's shirt. Did she just sniff the shirt? She just sniffed the shirt! I know it's clean, but it still has his lingering scent of musk and motor oil. She pulls back and began to read it. "Jeep Man. Skilled enough to take it apart, Talented enough to modify It, and Brave enough to drive it."

Turning to me she sighed, "Well, your owner must be a mechanic. It still doesn't explain to me why you had the lock picking set, but at least the shirt is clean. Thanks Max."

She leaned over and gave me a hug, before leaning back against the stump and wrapping her arms around me, and we just sat there for a while. Softly she whispered that her mom does not have long to live. Her illness is getting worse and she is getting worried about her. Her dad travels a lot now and will be traveling a lot more. He told her this morning that he has to, but he will be back to take her to the doctors. Since he traveling so much, I am going to have to take care of her and her sister. I just sat next to her in silence as she looked like she is thinking. I try to be her strength as she tries to absorb what she found out yesterday and this morning.

She reached over and opened her little sack, pulling out apple slices and a bottle of water. She gave me some slices as she sipped her water. I am not sure how long we sat there; her giving me apples and listening to the sounds of the woods, before she sighed and said she needed to go home to do some laundry and get dinner ready. I walked her back to her house. She took off her hat and rolled it back up in the shirt.

Bending over she said she was sorry that she had to leave, but she had to get it done before her mother woke up. I do understand as Erica fussed when she asked Kota and Jessica to do something and they don't get it done. I whine because I will miss her, and I am not sure when I will see her again. "Don't worry about me. I will find a way to keep our dates. I would only miss it if I am sick or dying." She kissed the top of my head, "Bye Max. See you tomorrow. "

I bark back and watch as she walked back into her yard. Suddenly the female from the park appeared at the back door. Even though she is smiling, the evil gleam in her eyes has me growling in warning.

"Look who thought they could come back home after sneaking out to meet a guy."

"Marie, I'm not sneaking back from meeting a guy."

"Bye Max. See you tomorrow" she mimics. "I should have known. Mom always calls you a slut."

"I am not sneaking out to see a guy. Max is..."

"Oh, wait until I tell mom this."

"NO! Please don't! Its not what you think Marie," Sang pleaded.

"I am going to enjoy seeing you suffer," she said as she stomped up the steps. I saw Sang run behind her and into the house. The hairs on my back stand up and I can't help the growl that comes out. I run back to the house to see if Derrick is there. I have a bad feeling and I don't want her by herself.
