Chapter 8: The choice

"Well...does your clairvoyant diary tell you anything about the enemy?" You asked Kasugano as two maids walked out of her cell after giving her a few blankets for her to sleep on. 'So.. she really does live in that cell..' you thought to yourself as you watched the maids leave.

"My diary has limitation's. It isn't omniscient," she answered as her only visible glossy eye focused to the best of it's ability on your form. You avoided eye contact with her and instead focused your attention Kurusu and Gasai, who were standing just outside the room. Gasai seemed to be focused on something on the screen of her diary.

'I had promised that i'd stay with Kasugano-chan for the night...but it's like sleeping on a bed of needles....'

"Amano-chan..." you turned back to Kasugano, "that girl is dangerous..i have a prediction. That she'll surely destroy you."

"Is that what your diary says?"

"It's what my instinct's say...."

Suddenly, a static sound came from your diary. Just as you picked up your diary to check entries, the blanket's in Kasugano's cell caught on fire.

"Kasugano-chan!" you shot up to your feet. At your scream some of Kasugano's followers rushed in.

"A fire!" One of them screamed.

"There's a fire!" Another screamed. "Someone! Put it out!"

"I got it!" A woman shouted as she picked up a near by bucket before dumping the dark lipid onto the flames, the flames only grew.

"You idiot! That was gasoline!" Another follower shouted.

"Huh? What was i just doing.." The same women before said in confusion.

"Bah! Someone save the lord!"

That's when all hell broke lose, more and more of Kasugano's followers came into the room, bashing and slashing each other.

"W-what's going on? What happened to everyone?!" You said in shock as you watched the followers kill each other. ".....that's right...i have to save Kasugano-chan!" you began to charge your way towards her cell door.

"No! Don't go!" a voice sudenly stopped you. Turning around you were greeted by a worried Gasai.

"But i can't let her die!" you argued.

"Let her die?" Gasai pulled out her mobile. "Something is really wrong. It was to be a trap! the way things are now, you'll die!"

"But i can't let Kusu-"

"Just trust me!"

"What is this...you don't care if Kusugano-chan dies?!"

"Let's go home, sweetheart..." Gasai tried to sweet talk you, "okay? And then-"

"And then you'll kill me?" You cut her off, Gasai was taken aback by your sudden hostility. "If i hadn't ran from your house yesterday night, would i have ended up like them? After seeing that, how can i believe you?!" You clenched your fist as angry tears tricked the corners of your eyes. "I refuse to trust you! You're crazy!" You screamed as you turned on your heels. Running up to Kasugano's cell you picked up an emergency ax from the wall as you brought it down onto the lock of her cell. "Kasugano-chan, are you alright?!" Just as you ran into her cell, the sprinkler system went off, killing the flames.
