This chapter is dedicated to my favourite fish SherryGold. I love you b♥ even though sometimes you claim to be older🙄. Happy birthday girl, keep on shining and being the amazing soul you're ❤❤

After my morning exercise I prepared for work. I dressed simple in a jean trouser and a white chiffon long sleeved top which I paired with some flat shoes. I let my hair fall to the side. I picked my brown sling bag and headed out of the house with my transport fare. As Iocked the door and headed out, Mama chika's children were having their bath in front of the flat. They bath over there in the morning for a reason which I don't know of.

After responding to their greetings I headed out bumping into Tara.
"Hey dear". She waved. She wasn't in yesterday's clothes but in ash shorts and an off shouldered black top and pumps.

"Good morning". I waved back at her. She had long white braids on.

"You're going out". She raised a brow. Her makeup was still intact.

"Yeah. I'm going to work". I held unto the hand of my bag. Tara clapped gleefully "That's great dear. I'm so happy for you. Why didn't you tell me?. We would have celebrated ". She smiled and a part of me was glad I did not tell her.

"Oh. It's no big deal". I grinned while turning down her request

"I still insist. Let me know when you're ready so we can shake body but anyways you should start going so I don't keep you waiting". She stepped aside and let me out. I sighed in relief. Tara was a nice person but I still didn't feel the way I felt around Sarah with her. I stood outside the gate hoping to see a motorcycle when my phone rang. I fished for the phone and it was Sarah

"Hey girl. Hope you're not sleeping?". This girl's bubbly personality scares me.

"Nope. I'm outside my gate". I saw a motorcycle passing by and I flagged it down.

"Okay. I Just wanted to wish you success on your first day at work". I heard her yawn over the phone.

"Sky Heart". I told the man and he nodded. We bargained on a price and I hopped on the bike.

"Thank you. I love you. Bye". I said as I hung up.

We arrived at the building in no time and I paid the man. I took out my phone and it read 6:43am. I was two minutes early. I quickly walked in not missing the grumpy security guard.

"Na who you dey pind?". He brought out his chewing stick and spat out the liquid. I wondered if it helped brush his teeth. I felt bad for the poor stick.

"I work here". I told him while he scanned me. I wondered if he had bipolar, he was the same man who greeted me happily yesterday and now he's acting like he doesn't know me.

"Who emfloy you make I no know. See anybody wey come know me say I be Dan baba. Who come be you wey be say oga no tell me. Naso Oyinbo Fefe dey lie?". ( when did you get employed that I wasn't notified about it. Everyone around here knows I'm Dan baba. So who are you that I wasn't Informed earlier. Is that how foreigners lie?). If I tell you I heard a damn thing he said call me a liar.

I was flustered cause I couldn't understand a thing. I needed help and didn't see any staff around.

"Please don't start. I don't understand what you said. Speak English". I said word by word.

"Kai. Wanan mata (Kai. This girl). You know school where I por go?. Na por Kano wey even soljar dey die por there but me go there commot. Nothing do me sam". (Do you know the school I attended?. It's in Kano, most people didn't make it out, even soldiers died there but I survived and nothing happened to me at all). He slapped his hands together while boasting. Was this man high on something?. I can't hear a damn thing and he's making it worse.
