CHAPTER 3

Isa stood still as he was stunned when he reached the small light at the end of the tunnel, lost for words as he was processing what he's seeing. A small spot light shining on a broken arm with spark coming out of it, it was Arno injured on his right side as his blood was trickling on the bionic arm causing more damage. Arno then noticed a shadow standing so he pointed the light towards it to make sure it's Isa, and there he was with an opened jaw waiting for an explanation. But without showing any weakness, Arno looked at Isa and said "oh there you are, could you lend me a hand?", Isa fumbled with the words as he was saying "y-yes sure, how can I help?"

"I need you to rip the lower part of my pant so I can stop the bleeding, here take this" and handed over a sharp metal from his bionic arm to cut it with, Isa then tied it around his arm and applying pressure to stop the bleeding. After some time, the bleeding stopped, but Arno felt dizzy as he lost some blood. Isa was lost in his questions that were wandering in his head not knowing which to ask first. "You need fluids after what you've lost, I'll figure out a way to get some". Arno looked at him with his barely opened eyes "is this another one of your sewer jokes, because I'm not planning on drinking that", Isa laughed it out and said "dang you figured my plan out already, I guess your previous plan washed my brain off". Arno didn't had any energy left to talk with his newfound friend, shortly after their small conversation, his eyes closed, finally peace surrounded him. He didn't hear any dripping water sound, the paranoia feeling left his mind, it was only him and his small empty world. The black atmosphere that was carrying him anywhere, his soul was completely alone, not one thought crossed his mind, just pure numbness. He almost lost hope, but he saw a light blinking, it got his attention. He walked to the blinking yellow light, every step he made, the yellow light gets lighter. Arno came so close to the light, when he finally saw what, or actually who it is. Evalien.

She is still here, in Arno's mind, wandering around. The words were stuck in his throat, the only thing what he could do was, staring at the gorgeous lady. The woman started to smile when she finally saw the male she was waiting for. "Wake up." Arno felt confused when he heard her saying that "What?" and this time the tone changed. "WAKE UP!" screamed Isa in Arno's ear. Arno woke up with a blurry vision and was unable to move any muscle, he tried looking at Isa as he was speaking but all he heard was gibberish, so he was just there staring with a dull face as Isa was asking him if he's feeling better while getting no response. Isa then pulls a multivitamin drink and helped Arno to recover from the blood loss, while constantly checking if anyone is any security is approaching. 15 minutes later Arno started feeling better, he became fully conscious and aware of what happened and quickly asked "how did you get these stuff, tell me everything you know". Isa laid back against the wall and said in a serious face "well you always got to keep yourself a back door, it might come in handy sometimes". Arno remained silent waiting for Isa to continue. "Well while I was hiding in that pipe because of your smart idea, the old walky-talky I have picked up the signal indicating that the friend of mine is nearby, so I went there while you were asleep and made contact and told him to get me these stuff and flush them. Don't worry they were covered in a plastic bag, this is not my way of getting revenge for your idea. He also sent me a couple other things to help us down here".

Arno looked down and secretly smiled then looked up and said "I guess everything is going in the right direction. Thank you for having a back door, we could use more to escape this place". Arno then looked at his bionic arm which he was unable to move and told Isa "I need to get rid of this arm if I can't fix it", Isa then pulled a couple of tools from his pocket and said "mind if I try and fix it? I examined it while you were asleep and told my friend to bring me the right tools, I've been a mechanic for some time so I know a thing or two." Arno was bewildered by the sudden information that Isa told him, but he was more flabbergast when he could move his bionic fingers in just seconds. "That easy?" Isa smiled as a respond. Arno tried to stand up to move on, they lost a lot of time, that they actually don't have. "What are you doing?" asked Isa after seeing his mate standing up. Arno stubbornly ignored his question and eventually found his strength in his legs. "You lost a lot of blood it is–" Arno shut him done with just one annoyed look, he picked up his bags and didn't look at Isa direction. It took him some steps and he was all frozen in his feet's. "I have a plan, Arno," said Isa quietly. They know each other for some hours and Isa already figured out what kind of men Arno is. This was a risky sentence to say at loud for him, but he didn't regret it, no, he felt proud of himself to make this step. "What?" Isa sighed and opened his mouth to explain it, but instead of that his eyes got wider. The same bleeping noise of earlier was surrounding them again. The government sent another dispatch in hopes to track them down again. Isa's mind quickly went to hiding in the pipe again, but he knew he won't be able to reach it without getting caught. Arno on the other hand quickly picked up the weapon he took from the dead security and got prepared for another fight, "Pick up yours, we're going to wipe more of these metal scraps." said Arno as he was making sure his bionic arm is functioning well. "I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think can be eliminated by their own weapon." said Isa in a confused expression, but Arno was always a step ahead in planning ahead. "I changed some wires in this whip, the weapon can give maximum charge two times before the battery dies, it should be enough electricity to burn their circuit. Let's just hope they didn't send the whole security down.". Arno then showed Isa how it's done and they went to hide in a dark place waiting for the drones to arrive. "Listen, these drones are easily distracted, I'll throw the flashlight, then we take them out with the whip". Isa looked at him with his face trying to hide a smile, "So you want me to actually aim and whip the flying drone down? What if I missed?". Arno looked at him with a serious face. "Well if you did miss, try not to get yourself killed at least. "

The bleeping sound got louder and louder, you almost couldn't hear the drippling water falling of the thick and thin pipes. Isa kept studying his weapon, it wasn't his first time holding one, but the weapon is much bigger and heavier than the one he got from his dad for his 16th birthday. His father always said 'look for your target, focus, control, keep breathing, shoot. Remember don't think twice.'. Unfortunately, Isa never listened to his dad. "There are four security drones," said Arno out of nowhere, his eyes were closed and tighten his grip on his weapon. "How do you know?" whispered Isa curiously and he was looking around. Arno didn't answer at first, he checked the battery level of his weapon, he felt relieved, that he still had enough battery. "I counted the beeping sound. Let's make it clear, it is 2 vs 4, you take two down and I do the other two," said Arno with a frown that was dancing on his forehead. "Hand me the flashlight, on 3 we are going to start this party." Isa nodded his head as a respond, he tried to not show any fear that crossed his eyes. Arno nodded in return to make it clear, that it is time for a fight for freedom. Arno looked at the flashlight, he found the switch to turn on the flashlight. "One." After he turned it on. "Two" He tossed it in the battlefield, it is now or never. "Three!"

The first two drones were getting closer, the noise is getting louder, Arno and Isa held their breath in with the whip turned off as they're waiting for the right moment to strike. The drone's light is becoming brighter on the wall ahead of Arno, he knew it was the right time to throw the flashlight.

It all happened in slow motion, split seconds as he threw the flashlight while the drones were about to turn to their sides and kill them both, but the flashlight hits the ground and light up before they do. The drones turned to see the origin of the wavelength they detected then rapidly estimate the starting point where it was thrown from, making both drones turn towards Arno as he his thumb was on the powering sensor of the whip and ready to slam one of them down. Arno quickly whipped the drone on the center of it which disabled the drone immediately. Isa on the other side was a bit slower in his reaction, he turned on his whip and aimed randomly at the drone as he was staring at it, and hit the left wing. As the first drone was falling on the ground, the second drone which Isa hit lost balance and collided with first one causing an explosion that blasted the sound to the security guards far behind.

"Thanks for not killing us Isa, you did well" said Arno as he was smirking. "Why thank you Arno, I did the wing and collision part on purpose to bring the remaining guards to us" said Isa in a shaking voice while looking away.

"Well you better be ready for the next one, try and aim straight at the head, that's where the brain is"

"Thanks for the tip mister know it all".

The sound of the guards as they were sprinting towards them can be heard now, the two men are ready to take these guards down as its the next step towards freedom, or so they hope.

The two were ready to eliminate the guards that were heading to them, but something catch Arno's eyes, it was a big wide pipe that fits a whole person. He followed the lead pipe where it was heading, he noticed that there was a big hole at the middle of the pipe, right above them. Arno quickly checked his battery of his weapon and he feared that his weapon will be useless, and dissatisfiedly it was, there was enough for one or maybe two shots, but he wasn't sure how much guards are coming on their way.

Arno was scanning the place, looking for a way to strike before the guards does. Eventually he found a large drain pipe above their heads and decides to attack from above, he told Isa about the plan and they started acting quickly. Arno helped and spotted for Isa as he was climbing first, then he grabs Arno's hand as he was jumping and pulls him close enough for his other hand to latch on the pipe. Arno climbed in the last second as the guards arrived at the scene. The two guards started analyzing the place, looking for clues to where these two went. At that time Arno figured out a way to get their attention, he signaled to Isa to do what he's about to do. They turned on the weapons after placing them in the back of the pipes, and their temperature began increasing until it's turning red. The guards quickly noticed the pipes and decided to split up to take a look, that was their chance attack. Arno told Isa he'll go first and then hangs the weapon off the pipe and jumped down on one of the guards striking his head off. Arno then yelled "Isa, Now!" as the other guard was rotating to attack him, Isa reacts quickly and dropped down on the guard as he was attacking, and hits it right in the neck, but the guard attacked too before getting knocked out. Isa was hit by the guard's whip and lost control over his body making him pass out from the injury, Arno picked him up as he was saying "Rest my friend, you did well today."
