Then I walked out the door.

Eddie

My plane ride there was uneventful just like my Uber ride there. Why did I let him keep MY car again? No! Stop thinking about him!

I wiped down the seat again and closed my eyes. I let slumber take over with the thoughts of Richie flooding my mind.

. . . .

"Attention all passengers," I flickered my eyes open, "we have now landed. You may grab your things and watch your step on your way out. Thank you." Then it clicked off. As I rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes I sat up. I waited for the very long line of passengers file to get off. Some holding crying babies, some in expensive business suits, and me, looking out the window at the Arizona atmosphere.

Bev told me that she was sending her fiancè to come pick me up. I grabbed my things and bustled off the plane. I walked over to the suitcase pick up wheel and watched the suitcases spin round and round. I finally spotted my big red one and grabbed it. I looked up to see a guy around my age holding a sign that says Eddie Kasprak.

Must be him.

I walked over to the guy and he grinned at me. He had dirty blonde hair and pale skin. He had small blue eyes and thin lips along with high cheekbones.

"Hey man, you must be Eddie?" The guy said, sticking his hand out. I shook it. "I'm Calvin." He smiled at me.

"Yeah I'm Eddie, so you must be Bev's special one?" I wiggled my eyebrows suggestively.

"Haha yes I am. So I heard you brought your dog, so do you wanna go pick it up?" He said, pointing in the direction of the big blue sign hanging from the ceiling that said "Pet Pickup".

"Ah yes, Brinda. Yeah let's go get her." I said, walking with him towards the pet pickup. We ended up having to walk out of the building, into another small building that said something about pets. I don't really remember because I was ready to get my baby by that point. After I checked her out of the building, we walked all the way back over to Calvin's car.

. . . .

About ten miles of desert, multiple abandoned two laned roads, and an hour and a half later, we pulled into a neighborhood. We pulled up in front of a big beautiful home with a two car garage.

Dang, Bev's personal assistant job must make loads. By this time it was already nine o'clock and the street lights were the only thing lighting up the streets. We pulled into the garage and he stopped the car and turned to me.

"Has she told you about Lena and Liam?"

"No..." I trailed off, racking my brain for anything about anyone named Lena and Liam. Maybe it was her boss and his wife? Or his mom and dad that lives with them? Or maybe it was their pets? Maybe Brinda will have a friend.
