I woke up saw Benny was sleeping with his arm around me. I turned his way and kissed his head, he smirked a little and kissed me back. I sat up and so did he. I put my head on his shoulder and Connor saw and slapped me.
"Ow! What the hell?" I yelled. Connor walked out and Benny put his hand on my neck and kissed me. "Morning breath," I said laughing. He rolled his eyes and we got up and walked out of the treehouse. It was really, really hot out already. Timmy and Tommy's mom had made us all pancakes, but I couldn't eat. I grabbed a glass of lemonade and sat down next to Benny. He looked at me with a confused gaze.
"Why aren't you eating?" He asked.
"I'm not hungry," I said with a smile. The truth is, well, I'm anorexic. No one knows. It started when I was with Ryan, he would tell me I'm a pig or fat whenever I would eat, so I just, stopped. I got very sick for a while and I had to eat until I finally got up to 98 pounds. I was fine for a while but when I moved to California, it happened again. The thing is, no one notices because no one cares.
"You haven't ate for the past few days, what's wrong, Addison?" Benny asked. I shook my head and drank some of my lemonade. Once I put it down he grabbed my arm and we walked to the bathroom inside their house. "What's wrong with you, Addison? You haven't been eating," Benny said. I didn't know what to say. "Addison, I'm your boyfriend. I'm supposed to know what's happening and you can trust me and tell me anything," Benny said.
"I haven't been eating because I'm anorexic," I said. Tears were rolling down my face as Benny walked over and hugged me. He kissed my forehead and didn't let me go. "I'm sorry, you can leave me or break up with me, I'm sorry I'm such a bad girlfriend and everything is wrong with me," I said. He kept hugging me and then finally let go.
"Addison, I love you," Benny said. "You have to see a doctor,"
"I don't like going to doctors,"
"You have to,"
"Fine," I said. Benny grabbed my hand and we walked out of the bathroom and back outside. I grabbed half a pancake and stared at it. Benny nudged me and I took a small bite. I finished the entire thing but I felt like throwing up. I ran up to the treehouse and closed the door and changed before anyone could come up. I wore a yankee's crop top and some black shorts with my black vans. I went inside to brush my teeth and then packed all my things. Benny walked up to me and kissed me, making me smile. He pulled away and laughed.
"We're going swimming, but it's like 20 minutes away so our parents are going to drive us, you can come with me if you want,"
"But wait- why can't you go to the one down the road?" I asked.
"We got banned!" Ham yelled.
"How?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"Squints pretended to drown so he could kiss Wendy Peffercorn, he did it successfully, but like Ham said we got banned," DeNunez said. Squints face turned bright red and he nodded.
A few minutes later we said our goodbyes and Benny and I started walking home. Benny put his arm around me and we walked home. Once we got there, we went our separate ways. I ran up to my room and put on a yellow bikini and put a yankees shirt over it. I put on a pair of adidas slides and walked over to Benny's house. He opened the door and he grabbed my hand and pulled me inside.
"You two are so cute!" Laura yelled. "Hug each other so I can get a picture!" She said smiling. Benny pulled me for a hug and then turned and kissed my cheek. I smiled and his mom took a picture. We started walking to the car and Benny and I went in the back seat. Benny grabbed my hand and I put my head on his shoulder.
It did take about 20 minutes until we got to the pool, but it wasn't a pool, it was a beach. We got out of the car and all the boys were there already. We found a spot and I took off my Yankees shirt. Benny's face went red as he looked me up and down. I walked over to him and kissed him.
"You're not the only one looking," I whispered. All the sandlot boys stared at me in awe and wouldn't stop. I thought their eyes were going to pop out of their head. Benny looked at them and then walked in front of me.
"Anyone who looks at her like that again is getting a beat down, got it?" Benny said. They all nodded and ran into the ocean. Benny turned around and kissed my forehead. "You're my girlfriend, not theirs," he said. I laughed and he gave me a piggyback ride to the ocean. I laughed when he put me down and I grabbed his hand. We walked into the ocean and I stood there and watched the waves.
"I've never been to the ocean," I said smiling. He looked at me and kissed my cheek again.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" He asked.
"Yeah," I replied. The bruises were almost gone now, so there was only a little bit of marks. Still bruised, but less noticeable. Someone grabbed me from behind and I turned around.
"Hey, babe," Phillips said. Benny let go of my hand and punched Phillips. He let go of me and Iran behind Benny. The sandlot boys all ran over and watched Phillips stand up. "I'm sorry I'm sorry! Don't hurt me, please," Phillips said. His face was bloody and so were Benny's knuckles.
"Go away, and don't come back, and never touch Addison, okay?" Benny said. I grabbed his arm and he turned his head to look at me, and then faced Phillips again.
"And don't come to the sandlot either!" Ham yelled. Phillips started running Benny turned around and hugged me. All the boys ran over and we got into a big group hug. We separated and then Benny put me on his shoulders and he walked deeper into the waves. He let me down and I sunk under, getting the salty water in my hair, and then got back up. Benny put his arms around my waist and kissed me.
"I love you so much, Addison Bree Wilson," He said.
"I love you too, Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez," I said with a smile.
