Chapter 2

Aubrey's POV

It's twelve o'clock pm and I have just gotten off work.I walked back home with my feet aching and stabbing pain through my back.

I walked through the door, sighing and kicking off my shoes.

"Aubrey! Is that you!?!" My dad shouted down the stairs.

"Yes..." I answered knowing he was going to get mad at me.

"You were supposed to be home at ten thirty!We have talked about this before and you remember how that ended!" He said and memories of that night flooded my mind.

"I know father but they needed me to stay.They were short staff"

He slapped me across my face probably leaving a blue bruise.

"Go to your room!" He shouted at me spitting on my face.

I raced up stairs, hoping he wouldn't follow me.I ran into my room, shutting the door and sliding down the back of it.

Harry's POV

Aubrey was very beautiful and she was so kind.I think I'll ask her to go get lunch with me tomorrow, we can get to know each other.

I walked to the small coffee shop that Aubrey worked at.I opened the door looking up, there she was in her apron and hair up in a bun.

I went up to the counter.I would have to admit I was a little nervous.

"Hello, Harry right?" She said.

"Yeah..." I said scratching the back of my neck nervously.

"What can I get for you?"

"Um well I was wondering if you would like to get lunch with me?"

"Uh sure.I get off in a few minutes" she said looking at her watch.

"Okay I' ll wait here" I said pointing towards the love seat at the front of the shop.

She nodded her head and started to take the next costumers order.

I haven't seen her smile once but I bet it's beautiful too.

I saw her hang up her apron and she started walking towards me.I stood up.

"You ready? "

"Yeah..." She said putting her head down a bit.

We walked out and started walking to a restaurant nearby.

We got to the restaurant a few minutes later.

"Table for two" I asked then followed the waiter to our table.

"Thank you, sir" I said to the waiter and he just nodded his head handing us the menus then left.I looked over at Aubrey, she was sitting with her hands folded in her lap and her eyes not on the menu but at me.

"So tell me about yourself" I said.

"Uh not much to tell about me I guess" She said shrugging her shoulders.

I was thinking of a way to make her smile.I got it.

"Do you know how much a polar bear weighs?" I asked.

"Nope."

"Enough to break the ice" I said chuckling a bit.

She smiled and started laughing.

"That's funny" She said calming down a little.

"I got you to smile" I said smiling myself.

"Oh..." She said quietly, hanging her head.

"It was the most beautiful smile I've ever seen" I said.
