Chapter 6

After the date with Vlad,Vlad took Melissa back to Bailey. He dropped her in front of Claudine's house.

"I hope you enjoyed the night." Vlad asked.
"Yeah I did. Thanks."
"Same here. See you later in school."

Vlad said this and gave her a peck on her jaw. He waved goodbye at her and left. Claudine was watching everything through the window and as Vlad left,she immediately came out of the house.

"You're fast girl. You just caught a big big fish." Claudine said.
"Is that how to greet a girl coming from a date?" Melissa said.
"I'm so sorry girl. How are you and how was your date?" Melissa said.
"I'm fine and the date was so..."
"So what?" Claudine asked.
"I can't express the words..."
"Just come in,we need to chat. We are going to talk about it the whole night."

Claudine and Melissa went inside and Claudine was eager to know more about her friend and Vlad. When they entered,they both sat down on the sofa.

"So how did you meet Vlad Dimitrov until you are having dates with him and till the point of dropping you." Claudine asked.

Melissa was shocked that Claudine knew Vlad until his full names. She seems to know every guy in this country.

"Which male don't you know in this country?" Melissa asked.
"Pfft. Don't be ridiculous. Vlad Dimitrov is the son of Vladimir Dimitrov,the owner of the most popular mafia in Russia known as Bratva. Vlad is supposed to take over his father when Vladimir would not be able to continue as the mafia leader."

This news shocked Melissa. She didn't expect to hear this about Vlad. She didn't even know the guy too well. Simply that he knows how to play the guitar and sing.

"It looks like you have never heard of this. I don't know all the males in Russia. I simply know the popular ones and Vlad is one of them." Claudine said.
"So you are saying he is the heir to Bratva,the Mafia gang?"
"Of course babe. How come he never told you about this?"
"I need to rest." I'm tired." Melissa said.

Melissa got up from her seat and went towards the direction of Claudine's room. Claudine noticed that her friend's mood had changed to that of fright and uncertainty. She really did spoil their sleepover.

Vlad was with his family and they were eating dinner together. Vladimir Dimitrov was at the center of the table while his wife Rozalina Dimitrov was at his left. Vlad and his brothers and sister occupied the other seats.

"Vlad dear,I never saw one of the private jets today. I asked and they said you flew one out." Rozalina said.
"I'm sorry mother,if you wanted to use that one. I took it out for urgent needs."
"What did any of our enemies do again? I hope you dealt with whoever made you to leave so urgently." Vladimir said.

Vlad never knew why his father had to make everything to be about the mafia. It would be a surprise to him if he tells him it's because of a girl.

"No dad. I wanted to take a girl out on a date to Moscow." Vlad said.

Vlad heard his brothers make whistle sounds and his sister simply rolled her eyes. His parents expressions were blank. He could not read what was in their minds.

"You say date huh? With a girl. So where did you take her that you had to use a private jet?" Rozalina asked.
"Moscow city,mother."
"My problem is that I hope she's not going to be a distraction in your work in the Mafia." Vladimir said.
"Of course dad. The mafia comes first in everything."
"Good." Vladimir said.

The following day at school,Melissa had gotten over the fact that Vlad belonged to a mafia and that he would soon be their leader. How come the others associated with him without being frightened especially Gina who always picked up quarrels with him. Melissa spotted Gina and Mariya coming towards her. Mariya was the first to greet.

"Hi Melissa. How was your date with Vlad?"
"At the beginning of the day,you have to start with this topic." Gina said.
"Gina I was asking the question to Melissa." Mariya said.
"Ughh. Do what you like. I'm waiting for the both of you." Gina said.
"I'm fine Mariya. The date was nice. He sang 'Perfect' for me and played the guitar. We went to Moscow city together. It was lovely." Melissa said.
"Uh oh. Please I hope you are not trying to fall into a black hole called love with Vlad. The guy is not the ideal." Gina said.
"Gina stop it. Vlad is our friend. You talk as if he's a stranger." Mariya said.

Gina knew Vlad was their friend but she was just being protective if Melissa. She did not want Melissa to get hurt along the way. She had grown a liking to the girl.

"I know Vlad is our friend. I won't be happy if he's not okay. But ....."
"But what?" Melissa asked.
"There's a lot of racism here in Russia. No offense but you're a black and Russians don't like blacks. Do you see the scenario? There's a possibility that Vlad might be playing you and there's also a possibility that he's serious. Myself,I'm confused and I don't know what to think." Gina said.

Melissa turned and looked at Mariya and she saw a little bit of pain in her eyes. If Gina had talked about racism,it included Mariya, Andrian and Boris.

"Mariya, I know you are my sincere friend. Don't mind what Gina said." Melissa said.
"I know. Don't think of me that way as a racist. All of us as your friends are not included into that group." Mariya said.
"Guys,why did you not tell me Vlad belonged to a mafia group." Melissa said.

Melissa saw their shocked faces and presumed they too did not know. How come Vlad never told them and they have been friends for a very long time.

"You two did not know?" Melissa asked.
"Of course we know." Gina said.
"Then why were you all shocked when I said it?"
"It's because you were supposed to get the news from Vlad himself and not the source you took it from." Mariya said.

As they were speaking, the girls saw the boys coming towards them and Vlad was included. Melissa concluded that if the girls knew that Vlad is in the mafia means the boys obviously know. Melissa's fright came back even though  she tried hard as possible to push it behind her.

"Hey babe." Vlad said while kissing her on her forehead.

Melissa tried hard as possible not to shiver but it was a total failure. Mariya and Gina left Melissa to be with Vlad and Gina whispered something in Vlad's ear in Russian and Vlad nodded. The boys too were looking at her and Vlad could see fright in her eyes. Melissa knew they were obviously talking about her and her fright increased. Her palms became sweaty.

"Melissa see you during lunch." Vlad said this and left.

Melissa noticed that Vlad had not called her babe and she knew there was definitely a problem. She had to calk Claudine to be safe.
During lunch time,Melissa had to gather courage to sit with her normal group of friends. She was still scared of Vlad. She noticed that there was an additional lady on the table and she was sitting where Melissa uses to sit near Vlad. Melissa just waved at the crowd and sat by Gina.

"You came." Andrian said.
"Of course. I need to eat lunch." Melissa answered.

Melissa noticed that even though Vlad was putting his arms around the lady by him,his whole attention was on her. Fuck Claudine for telling her that Vlad belongs to a mafia. She wondered who this new lady was.

"Hey Melissa. I'm Tamara." The new lady said.

Melissa wondered how the Tamara girl knew her name and she concluded the others had told her. Melissa saw how Vlad had not even spoken a word to her and later,she saw Vlad kissing Tamara on her lips. It was just the day before that Vlad had sang for her and made a romantic dinner for her. She could no longer stand it and she got up to leave.

"Guys,I've lost my appetite. See you later." Melissa said.

As she got up to leave,Mariya and Gina followed. Melissa turned and spoke to them.

"What's the problem? Go and continue having lunch." Melissa said.
"We can't when our friend is down. Don't worry about Vlad, he's just taking out his anger." Mariya said.
"Taking out his anger how?" Melissa asked.
"We all know ,you're afraid of him now that you know he belongs to a mafia. Vlad too knows. He's angry that you are afraid of him. Even though,I don't approve of both of you,I should admit the guy really loves you." Gina said
