Eternal Discovery

Chapter 2: First of many things

The boy woke up in the bed he was placed in "oh where am I?...daylight?"  daylight was seeping through the holes in the wooden window patterns. He got out of bed and opened the window to find a Street full of people going about their daily lives including women, men, soldiers and children. "how did I get here?...I was fighting that man but...the rest is a blur. This must be some kind of bedroom" He noticed he was in a fairly plain room. There was a bed he had slept in, with a chest of draws and a wardrobe. He stepped out through the door at the opposite end of the room and came out to the end of a hallway with a few other rooms littered along the hall, he as he proceeded to the stairwell at the other end"What's the lovely voice and (sniffing) that smell"

As he walked down the stairs, the sounds of radiant humming  hit his ears, coming from Sophia was preparing over a cooking pot, The last stair creaked on pressure and sSphia spun around  " oh good morning Tema are you alright"

"Tema?" the boy replied

"That's your new name remember I gave the name to you yesterday" he thought about for a moment and quite like the sound of the name.

"Where am I? hmmm Sophia right?"

"That's right. You're in my house"

  Tema looked around the bottom floor, which was more or less a single room, there was a fairly big square table covering the middle and a cooking area where Sophia was. The stairs were at the back wall, and proceeded along the wall to the bottom.  He reached the bottom "Where's that girl from last night?"

"You mean Lucile? she went home to her mothers. Anyway your breakfast is ready sit down please" he moved to the table and sat down. Sophia brought over a bowl with porridge in it and a small loaf of bread that smelled like it was fresh out of an oven. Sophia sat down opposite with her hair glimmering slightly in the light "well tuck in".  Tema grabbed a spoon and took a mouthful of porridge and found it warm and delicious.

As they finished their breakfast, a knock came at the door. "come in" Sophia said and the girl from last night entered the room

"Morning Ms Sophia. I was just wondering if that boy is around. I wanted to make sure he was okay?"

"You mean Tema yeah he's fine see?" replied Sophia as Lucile saw him finishing his bread roll

"Do you mind if I could ask him a couple of questions? I'd like to know more about him" inquired Lucile

"Tema...would that be alright with you?" Tema nodded as Lucile sat next to him.

She was looking curiously at him which made Tema slightly awkward. He had a good look at Lucile. She was just as tall as him but neither too skinny or muscular. There was also a red hair band in her light-blue hair to keep it in place.  Sophia spoke first "well let's start with this. Tema let me ask you. Do you know where you are right now?   Tema shook his head "you are in my house in the town of radiant light" 

"Radiant Light?" replied Tema

"yes it's the town we are in right now. We brought you here after that fight yesterday"

"so it was these two that brought me here." Tema thought to himself 

"Who was the man who attacked you yesterday?"

"You mean Zangy?" said Sophia "Just someone who thinks that just because their strong they can own anything they want"

"Now my turn" Lucile piped in " who are you, where did you come from?" asked Lucile, he began thinking about this
